Carol Vorderman has shared a health update with fans as she made a “welcome” trip home to North Wales. The former Countdown host and broadcaster, originally from the coastal town of Prestatyn, boasts an impressive following on platforms like Instagram and has been a vocal critic of the previous UK Government.

However, she’s faced health challenges recently, having experienced burnout last year which necessitated a break from her intensive TV and radio commitments. In a recent video posted from Prestatyn beach, the “wayward” daughter returned home, providing fans with a reassuring update on her wellbeing.

Carol shared: “I’m back in my old home town of Prestatyn in North Wales. It’s an absolutely beautiful day, the sun has come out to welcome its wayward daughter home.”

She continued: “The sun came out to welcome me back to where I grew up. Everyone is being lovely and so many people saying hello and ‘welcome home’ on our walk this morning.

“Thank you lovely people. It’s good to be back.”

Her post was met with hundreds of supportive messages across Instagram and Facebook, reports North Wales Live.

A fan named Wesley encouraged her to keep her followers updated, commenting “we’ve missed your posts”.

Responding to the concern, Carol revealed she had been “poorly for most of this year” but reassured that she’s now on the mend.

She said: “I’m back in good health now – so much more to come.”

In a heartwarming exchange, Wesley expressed his appreciation, remarking: “You brighten up people’s day, you are so loved. I’m looking forward to more, all the very best Carol.”

Although Carol has since moved to Bristol, she frequently makes her way back to Wales for various escapades, including paddle boarding.

Engaging with a fan who reminisced about past holidays at Pontins, Carol shared the unfortunate news that the camp is no longer open.

Visitors to Prestatyn beach were taken aback by its tranquillity, to which Carol explained that it’s usually this peaceful “mostly once the weather’s cold”.
