What did you miss?
Celebs Go Dating star Helen Flanagan has broken down in tears discussing her split from Scott Sinclair on Loose Women, as she said “he was my world”.
The former Coronation Street star split from long-term partner Sinclair, who she shares three children with, in 2022 after 13 years together.
She was comforted by her former screen mum Sally Dynevor who offered her tissues as she spoke to Loose Women about the breakdown of their relationship. In an incredibly touching moment, they held hands while Flanagan shared her feelings.
What, how, and why?
Helen Flanagan may have split from footballer Scott Sinclair back in 2022, but it is clearly still a raw subject for her as she broke down in tears while talking about it on Loose Women.
Flanagan joined her former Corrie mum Sally Dynevor on the ITV1 chat show, where talk turned to Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s recent split.
Asked by the panel whether she believed in happy ever after following her own split with the father of her three children, she said: “Scott was my world, I always thought we were going to be together, always.”
Denise Welch told her: “I just know that you really struggled – could you just take us through because you had a breakdown, a real psychotic breakdown.”
Flanagan tried to fight back tears and was offered tissues as she said: “Gosh, I didn’t think I would get so emotional today!”
She added: “I think it was just sometimes when I see the headlines it could just be really triggering. I just think what it was – I didn’t really want to talk about it and I think the reason why I spoke about it was because I just started to do a six-month theatre tour.”
The star has also spoken before about having a bad reaction to her ADHD medication during the stressful time in her life, and said she would like to see media reports handle celebrity break ups “more sensitively”.
What else did Helen Flanagan say on Loose Women?
Despite her upset over her split from Sinclair, Flanagan admitted that she would still love to meet a new partner one day.
She said: “I am a romantic but it would take someone really special to introduce them to my children.”
Asked whether she would go for someone with children of their own who could understand being a single parent, she agreed: “I think so.”
Flanagan also discussed a potential return storyline for her Coronation Street character Rosie Webster, laughing: “I think it would be really funny for Rosie to come back as a mum and cause some chaos.”
