Tributes have been made around the world to honour the late Ricky Hatton who has died age 46. The former champion was found dead in his Greater Manchester home on Sunday morning, September 14.
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that a body has been found and said that the death is not being treated as suspicious. During his boxing career, the Manchester City fan held multiple world championships, as well as UK titles, and was named Fighter of the Year in 2015.
Ricky, a previous Fighter of the Year in 2015, was due to return to the ring with a fight planned in December. Touching messages have to the late boxing legend been made from fellow boxers and famous faces from across a number of industries, with Amir Khan, Tyson Fury, David Beckham and Phil Foden paying tribute.

And now, on our Liverpool ECHO’s tribute map below, you can leave a message to honour Ricky Hatton too. Earlier today, Ricky’s loved ones released a statement through Greater Manchester Police and paid tribute to the boxing champion’s “kindness, humour and loyalty”.
The statement reads: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son Richard. Richard was so much more than a world champion. To us he was simply ‘Richard’, our son. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, and a true friend to many.
