TV presenter Davina McCall is set to tie the knot with hairdresser Michael Douglas, her representative confirmed to PA news agency. The joyous news comes months after McCall, 57, revealed that her “final MRI” showed her benign brain tumour had been fully removed during surgery and was “not coming back”.

The former Big Brother host underwent an operation in November 2024 to remove a colloid cyst, discovered during a health check-up offered as part of her menopause advocacy work.

Following her surgery, Davina spent time in intensive care before recuperating at home with the support of her partner Michael. The couple first crossed paths on Big Brother in the early 2000s when Michael styled her hair.

Back in 2023, Davina revealed that herself and boyfriend Michael, who share a podcast, had decided to start living together, The Express reported.

On the Making The Cut podcast, she said: “I am quite enjoying as a new couple doing new things, because we are newly living together.

“It’s quite nice making new traditions because we did that before Christmas, we sat down together and talked about it: ‘Ok, blank space, what shall we make tradition from now on?’

Together, Davina and Michael co-host the Making The Cut podcast, and Davina is frequently seen having her hair styled by Michael in posts on his Instagram page.

Recently, the couple made a joint appearance at the National Television Awards (NTAs), where Davina presented the prize for authored documentary.

Davina, who received the special recognition award in 2024, expressed to the 2025 winners’ room that the award “meant so much” because she “wasn’t sure where I was going to be six weeks later”.

She added: “It was mega, it was the best ever and Hannah (Waddingham) giving it to me, I love Hannah, Hannah’s such a friend of mine and everything and I ugly cried.”

Davina was honoured with the award in September 2024, a couple of months prior to announcing she would be having brain surgery.

The NHS states that non-cancerous brain tumours are more prevalent in individuals over 50, with symptoms encompassing headaches, blackouts, behavioural alterations and loss of consciousness.
