Two Coronation Street actors have surprised fans as they shared a joint update on social media. Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan Connor on the soap, joined Mikey North, who portrays Gary Windass, as the two soap stars jetted off to Vancouver together.
In a post on Instagram, Ryan shared a carousel of snaps highlighting their enjoyable time spent together on holiday in Canada. He captioned the post: “Vancouver, thank you very much for having us. We loved every minute.”
The first photo sees the two actors soaking up the sun, followed by several images showing when they got up to on their trip, from sightseeing to yummy brunch plates. Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer on the soap, commented: “Fabulous” with a red love heart emoji.
It goes without saying that Coronation Street is immensely popular around the globe. But it seems that both Ryan and Mikey have their own fan club over in Canada, as hundreds of Corrie fans took to the comments expressing their excitement.
One said: “You were in my hood! Glad you could see what a stunning place Vancouver is.” A second follower wrote: “Come to Montreal next.”
A third follower said: “Seeing you in Victoria was amazing. Hope you enjoyed visiting Canada.” Another fan wrote: “It was a highlight of my life to see you guys here. Hope you guys enjoyed our beautiful city.”
Other Corrie fans were pleased to see the two stars spending time together away from the cobbles. One said: “You two together on holiday together has made my day.” Another wrote: “Gary AND Ryan!” with a heart eyes emoji.
The post was liked by numerous Coronation Streets stars, including Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt) , Jack P Shepherd (David Platt) and Vicky Myers (Lisa Swain).
While Ryan and Mikey enjoyed a relaxing break away from work, their on-screen counterparts were having a much more eventful time. Gary Windass has been at the centre of the drama on the cobbles in recent months following the arrival of Mick and Lou Michaelis.
Gary found himself at the centre of a scandal which saw him hospitalised. But the nightmare neighbours have now said their final goodbyes after affecting the lives of numerous residents. Mick is now behind bars after killing the beloved Craig Tinker, shown in heartbreaking scenes earlier this year.
Ryan on the other hand, has had a slightly better experience in Weatherfield. At the start of the week, fans were “sobbing” as Carla Connor and Lisa Swain finally popped the all-important question.
Carla and Lisa have recently purchased a house on Coronation Street, making history on the show as the first same sex couple to do so. They have moved into number six following Yasmeen Nazir’s exit earlier this year. Carla was touched when Lisa decided to ask Ryan to move in with them last month so he had somewhere to stay.
