Ben Shephard has shared an update about the ITV show Tipping Point. The quiz show host started presenting the gameshow in 2012 and has been a regular on our screens ever since.

Before Tipping Point, Ben also hosted other shows including the Krypton Factor from 2009 until 2010 and has hosted Ninja Warrior UK from 2015 until 2019. Tipping Point has been on air since 2012, and remains among the most popular TV shows on our screens, alongside The Chase.

On Instagram, Ben said: “So excited that we’re back baby! In the studio filming series 15 of Tipping Point. Been awesome to reunite with the machine (when she behaves) but especially you meet over 200 contestants who came to test their skills and try their luck.

“We’ve made some cracking shows can’t wait for you to see them. We were filming in Kent for the first time and I was saying in the grounds of Leeds Castel so thought I’d make the most of the stunning grounds.” He added that staying consistent while not at home isn’t always easy but is “worth it” if possible.

The daytime show presented by Ben, sees contestants given the chance to play a large coin-drop machine. In order to do so, they must first answer a range of general knowledge questions across the course of various rounds.

Contestants who answer the fewest questions correctly and build up less money than others will leave the competition with nothing. The last contestant standing has an opportunity to win the machine’s £10,000 jackpot by answering questions correctly and dropping counters in the correct places to tip the winning counter over the edge.

Away from the screen, Ben has become heavily involved with fitness and staying fit. The ITV star recently endured the World’s Toughest Mudder. Lasting a gruelling 24 hours, it challenges participants with with brutal climbs and unforgiving terrains.

Speaking about this challenge on social media, he said: “Fit at 50 isn’t about how fast you are or how strong you feel. It’s about showing up. It’s about holding yourself accountable. Saying yes to things that scare you. And doing it all with the people you love.”

Ben returns to filming after a trip to Australia with his family. He posted: “So this is just a little bit exciting! As my 50th year celebrations continue (have I mentioned I’ve turned 50) a proper bucket list moment, as we’ve just landed in Australia with the family – to support the British and Irish Lions across their tests!”

It was back in 1998 that Ben made his name in television, with his first gig on Channel 4’s The Bigger Breakfast – a spin-off of the morning show The Big Breakfast.

He previously hosted The X Factor’s behind-the-scenes show, The Xtra Factor, was a GMTV presenter from 2000 until 2010 and presented Good Morning Britain. He now co-presents ITV’s This Morning, alongside Cat Deeley.
