Richard Osman Joined by Famous Wife on Red Carpet for The Thursday Murder Club Premiere

Richard Osman was photographed alongside his wife, actress Ingrid Oliver, at the premiere of the forthcoming Thursday Murder Club film. Attention focused on Richard, whose novel inspired the adaptation, as the stellar ensemble cast featuring Dame Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan graced the red carpet at Leicester Square in London yesterday evening.

The author and television host posted several images from the occasion, beginning with a shot of himself and wife, Ingrid. Richard appeared in a black suit complemented by a burgundy tie, while Ingrid wore an elegant red gown accessorised with matching earrings, white heels, and a stylish bob haircut.

Additional photographs show Richard alongside the film’s stars, including Dame Helen, Pierce, Celia Imrie, Ben Kingsley, Tom Ellis, and Daniel Mays.

He wrote beneath the collection of images: “What a wonderful night with @ingrid_oliver at the Thursday Murder Club premiere in Leicester Square. We had the whole family there, which was a dream.”

Richard, 54, continued: “Thanks to the whole amazing cast and crew, and particularly to the incomparable @chriscolumbus and @netflixuk.”

The movie, adapted from the novel sharing its title, chronicles a group of pensioner detective enthusiasts residing in a retirement home who endeavour to crack a murder case.

The movie began screening in selected cinemas yesterday, August 22,, before becoming available for streaming on Netflix from August 28, reports the Mirror.

Following the premiere, Ingrid, 48, posted an effusive Instagram message about the film, describing it as “brilliant and warm and funny and touching”.

She continued: “It has been made with love and care by everyone involved, adapted by @katybrandofficial and Suzanne Heathcote from the book by @misterosman that was also made with love and care and a belief in humanity in all its flawed beauty.”

The TV host, who has two children from his previous marriage, married Ingrid in December 2022. The couple first met when the actress, who has starred in shows like Doctor Who, Sweetpea and features in The Thursday Murder Club, appeared on Richard Osman’s House of Games.

Richard subsequently revealed to Lorraine Kelly that he recalled spotting Ingrid’s name on the participant roster and thinking “Oh, I quite fancy her”.

He explained: “She agreed to come on the show and I think we were desperately trying not to flirt during the show.”

The couple married almost three years ago, with Richard posting a snap from their special day, capturing the newlyweds clasping hands as they walked back up the aisle together.

Ingrid donned a long-sleeved white gown paired with white shoes and pearls, while Richard sported a navy suit adorned with a red rose.

Speaking about their wedding day, he remarked: “The most magical, joyful day on Saturday with my beautiful wife @ingridoliver100. Surrounded by wonderful friends and family, a day full of love and laughter. We’re so, so happy.”
