Michelle Keegan has landed her latest acting role in a “gripping new” ITV series, The Blame. The drama dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption and will have six episodes.

The former Coronation Street actress will lead the cast as DI Emma Crane, while Douglas Booth, known for his role in The Sandman, will play DI Tom Radley. Actor Ian Hart portrays DCI Kenneth Walker. It has been a busy few months for the star – last month, Michelle took to social media to mark the final series of hit show Brassic.

The actress has starred in Brassic, which is one of Sky’s biggest TV shows, since it first aired in 2019 and has since appeared in all six series. She plays the role of Erin, who starts off as Dylan’s (Damien Molony) girlfriend but a lot of twists and turns lead to an emotional journey for Michelle’s character as the episodes continue to unfold.

Following the major cliffhanger that ended Brassic’s sixth series last year, it was confirmed that the show was renewed for a seventh. In a recent teaser clip posted on social media ahead of the upcoming series, Michelle captioned the video: “The Brassic gang are going out with a bang. The farewell series of #Brassic, coming soon to @skytv and @nowtv.”

Sky’s description for season seven teases “one last batch of capers and chaos” that promises to be a “special blend” of hilarity and heart. They add: “Brassic’s final series promises to make sure that the series will be their biggest and best yet – get ready, gang.”

Speaking about the new ITV series ‘ The Blame’, ITV’s Director of Drama, Polly Hill said: “The Blame is a brilliant new crime thriller full of surprising twists and a compelling investigation that also cleverly tackles police corruption, exploitation and misogyny as the thriller unravels.

“Megan is such a wonderful and clever writer, and with Michelle Keegan in the lead and Nicola Shindler at the helm, this is going to be an unmissable drama and one I’m very proud to have on ITV.”

The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead. DI Crane and DI Radley dig deeper and what starts as a tragic death, spirals into a tangled web of lies and moral compromise.

It has been a special year for Michelle and her personal life. Michelle and Mark Wright tied the knot nearly a decade ago, and they recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl, into their lives.

Taking to Instagram with a touching black and white image of them holding their baby’s tiny hand, Michelle and Mark shared with their multitude of fans: “Together we have a new love to share…Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”

The day after the announcement, Michelle posted some heartwarming pictures on her Instagram. Among them was a picture showcasing ‘baby girl’ balloons positioned in front of a window.
