Fans of Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne have noticed an emotional detail as Sharon arrived at the funeral of her late husband. The Black Sabbath frontman was laid to rest today in his home city.
Sharon was visibly emotional as fans shouted “Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy” during a procession through the streets of Birmingham in honour of the heavy metal star. Ozzy, who played a farewell gig in the city earlier this month, died at the age of 76 last Tuesday.
The Former X Factor judge was seen hugging the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zafar Iqbal, after she arrived at the Black Sabbath bench where floral tributes have been laid.
People took to social media after noticing what Sharon was wearing around her neck. The 72-year-old wore a long black dress and was supported by her and Ozzy’s children, Jack and Kelly.
One user on X, shared a photo of Ozzy’s wedding ring and compared it to that of the one Sharon wore on a necklace. The post said: “Sharon Osbourne wearing Ozzy’s wedding ring in a chain around her neck while mourning him. We love you Shaz.” A response to this was “I was wondering if that was his ring this killed me even more.”
A second fan of Ozzy wrote: “Seeing Sharon wear Ozzy’s ring on a necklace… completely wrecked me” and a third added “Broke my heart seeing Sharon and the kids visit Ozzy’s memorial at the procession, noticed Sharon had Ozzy’s wedding ring on her necklace.”

A further response was: “I truly truly hope they are all taking care of themselves and each other. Sharon has Ozzy’s ring around her neck.” The family of the War Pigs singer paused to look at the tributes left by the thousands of Sabbath fans who have laid flowers for the singer
Sharon and children Kelly and Jack were cheered by fans. An emotional Sharon received plenty of love from the fans lining the streets near Black Sabbath Bridge.
The cortege paused for the family to leave their vehicle and see the marks of respect left for Ozzy. Sharon was pictured crying and putting peace signs up to the crowd. The thousands of fans lining Broad Street had been chanting and cheering as Ozzy’s cortege moved slowly past.
Sharon and her grandchildren could be seen wiping away tears at the bench as they looked at tributes. Each family member carried a pink rose, wrapped in black paper tied with a purple ribbon, that they laid on top of the many other floral tributes that sat next to a poster of the star, which said: “Birmingham will always love you”.

Sharon kissed the flower she was holding before laying it in the middle of the tributes. The hearse carrying Ozzy’s coffin passed the star’s childhood home in Lodge Road, Aston, at about 12.45pm on Wednesday on its route into Birmingham city centre.
Musicians from Bostin Brass played Black Sabbath songs to accompany the cortege, and fans threw flowers at the hearse while it slowly passed through the city.
Sharon and Ozzy were married for more than four decades. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on July 4, 2025 — just weeks before Ozzy died on July 22. They got married in Hawaii in 1982 and went on to have three children together, Aimée, Kelly and Jack Osbourne.
