Michelle Keegan’s Heartfelt ‘Farewell’ as Hit Show Wraps After Seven Years – Fans Are Absolutely Gutted

Michelle Keegan starred as Erin in Brassic for seven years

Michelle Keegan took to social media to share a “farewell” message as the last ever series of Brassic will soon be released. The actress has starred in Brassic, which is one of Sky’s biggest TV shows, since it first aired in 2019 and has since appeared in all six series.

She plays the role of Erin, who starts off as Dylan’s (Damien Molony) girlfriend but a lot of twists and turns lead to an emotional journey for Michelle’s character as the episodes continue to unfold.

Following the major cliffhanger that ended Brassic’s sixth series last year, it was confirmed that the show was renewed for a seventh. Michelle said at the time that she hopes her character Erin has an easier experience the next time around.

In a recent teaser clip posted on social media ahead of the upcoming series, Michelle captioned the video: “The Brassic gang are going out with a bang. The farewell series of #Brassic, coming soon to @skytv and @nowtv.”

Fans rushed to the comments on Instagram in excitement as they can’t wait to watch. One said: “I cannot wait. Loved all the series’ so far. Patiently waiting for the release date…..”

A second said: “So exciting!” and a third fan wrote: “Cannot wait! One of my favourite programmes, currently re-watching all episodes and still cracks me up.”

Other Brassic fans added to the comments to express their disappointment over the show coming to an end after seven years. One fan wrote: “Gutted it’s ending. Please don’t let it be a sad ending.”

Another said: “One of the best shows out there! Don’t want it to end, but, it’s been a bloody good run!” A third added: “Can’t wait! Shame it’s coming to an end. Best British show on tv!”

The former Coronation Street actress said goodbye to the character of Erin Croft earlier this year. Michelle took to Instagram to share a series of photos from her time filming the show over the past seven years.

37-year-old Michelle captioned the post: Goodbye Erin [crying emoji]…so finally the Brassic journey has come to an end (feels so strange saying that) and what an unbelievable 7 years it’s been.

“I feel so privileged to have been a small part of such a mighty show. From the moment I read the first script I knew this job was going to be special and it definitely was.”

The Brassic star finished by thanking the team, she said: “Thank you to everyone who worked on the show over the years for the laughs, friendship and more importantly the memories…What a magical 7 years we had.”

Sky’s description for season seven teases “one last batch of capers and chaos” that promises to be a “special blend” of hilarity and heart. They add: “Brassic’s final series promises to make sure that the series will be their biggest and best yet – get ready, gang.”

Danny Brocklehurst, co-creator and writer, said: “When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn’t have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base.

“It’s been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA!”
