John Bishop has shared a fun night with his family as they were in attendance to see Oasis perform at Wembley stadium yesterday. The comedian, who grew up in Runcorn, regularly shares updates from his life on social media.
He was working as a sales rep until 2006 when he left his job to become a full-time comedian. Within three years he was playing to sold-out arenas. His comedy debut was in Manchester, at the Frog and Bucket stand-up club in October 2000.
John and his wife Melanie have been married since 1993 and have three sons together, Joe, Daniel and Luke. The couple’s youngest son is Daniel, born in 1998. Their older sons are Joe born in 1994, and Luke born in 1996.
Sharing a selfie to Instagram yesterday with his friends and family, John wrote: “Still buzzing from an unforgettable night with family and friends seeing Oasis live…. Music that shaped so many memories and sound tracked so many moments in our lives.
“Shout out to the incredible opening acts….. Cast and Richard Ashcroft who are legends in their own right, and the perfect build-up to a night we’ll be talking about for years.”
Liam Gallagher and brother Noel Gallagher have put their differences to one side to the delight of Britpop fans across the globe. Oasis will be playing gigs across the UK and Ireland. This will be followed by dates across the globe.
There was unprecedented demand for tickets, with fans from 158 different countries applying for tickets to the UK shows when they went on sale last summer.
Approximately 14 million people are estimated to have tried to get tickets for the 17 UK and Ireland dates on the Oasis Live ’25 tour, resulting in a complete sell out.

John has previously spoken to the Mirror about his bond with his three boys, and revealed the advice he gave them growing up. He said: “When you grow up try to be a good man.
“I don’t want them thinking money is more important than people. I hate the idea that ambition needs to be more important than reality.”
Earlier this year, he sent a special message to his wife Melanie as they celebrated their anniversary together. He said: “When you are into your fourth decade with someone and life means that you spend big chunks of time apart, it is sometimes difficult to find the time and place to reconnect properly.
”Spending the last two weeks in a unique hotel that had no tv, no fourth wall and not even a lift despite it being over 500 steps to the beach has been exactly what I and @melbish1 needed.”
John is preparing to tour the country in late 2025 in celebration of 25 years in stand up. The tour is coming to the M&S Bank Arena on October 24 & 25. The tour is straight off the back of his Back At It Tour, which ended earlier this year.
