Two Gogglebox stars have “not been asked” to return to the Channel 4 show after a three-year stint on the sofa. Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle were the first Scots to appear on Gogglebox in over six years.
The two who live in Glasgow, joined the 19th series of the show back in 2022 and ever since, they’ve been making viewers laugh with their sense of humour and witty comments. The couple have been together since 2018 and live together.
Roisin has today taken to TikTok and shared the couple’s future on the much-loved show. She said: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26.
“Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. We couldn’t be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching tv with you all on Friday nights!
“It’s been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don’t actually need subtitles.”
The message continued as she thanked crew, writing: “We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family! We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely.”
The TV star told followers: “A huge thank you to everyone who has watched us, met us, and supported us during this experience, it for sure has been a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Roisin captioned the post “it’s been real”, as fans sent messages of support. One comment said “Love you and Joe on Gogglebox. Won’t be the same without you.”
Marie added “No way definitely the best in there we love you and Joe” and another user wrote “Wait. I have just re-read your statement, they let you go? So sorry, I like the regional aspect, the counties and countries represented. UK isn’t just London. Lots of luck for your next adventure.”
Gogglebox first aired in the UK on March 7 2013. There have since been 25 series that have aired on Channel 4. The production team spend time scouting out the perfect candidates for the show, and being spotted remains the only way to be on Gogglebox.
Show creator Stephen Lambert said in 2015, “Everybody on Gogglebox has been found and persuaded to be on the show and I think that’s the key to why they are likeable and why the show works, because we get to know these people. We’ve never advertised for people on Gogglebox.”
Gogglebox has been approached for comment.
