Rylan shared a heartfelt post to celebrate his mum Linda’s birthday. The radio host announced on Instagram last week that his mum had been taken to hospital as he thanked emergency teams. However, he recently issued an update that his mum was able to come home to celebrate her special day.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Happy Birthday to the best mum. So glad you’re home for it. Love you x.” Hundreds of fans and celebrities took to the comments to send their good wishes.
Scarlett Moffatt said: “Massive happy birthday Linda” with red love heart emojis. Ruth Langsford said: “Happy Birthday @lindaclark. So pleased you made it home. Have a wonderful day.”
Holly Willoughby, Tasha Ghouri, Fearne Cotton, Alexandra Burke and Cat Deeley also added to the stream of comments showing their support.
Rylan and his mum became a hit with fans as they both appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox. They did a grand job of taking on the role of armchair critics as they took viewers into their homes and gave their hilarious verdicts on the latest hit TV shows.
Fans of the mum and son added to the comments on Linda’s birthday post on social media. A follower named Polly wrote: “She’s the best, you’re the best together.”
A user called Pamela said: “Happy Birthday Linda. So glad you are home and on the mend. Rylan is such a good son to you and you should be so proud. Love you both Xxx.” Sofia added: “We love watching you and your mum on Gogglebox. She is a fab lady”
Rylan took to his Instagram stories on Friday to inform his followers that Linda had been taken to hospital. The former X Factor star wrote: “Mummy Linda isn’t well sadly, so I won’t be hosting the show tomorrow.
“Thank you to the emergency team at Princess Alexandra Hospital. Especially Tanya, who really looked after my mum.” Rylan added that he would keep fans updated before calling Linda a “trooper”.
The TV personality continued to update worried fans about his mum’s condition since his first post was uploaded. A further update said: “She’s doing really well. Now chatting away with a lovely lady next to her. On the mend! Cheers for your messages. She’s all good. Hoping she will be at home for her birthday. She’s now worried about wheelie bins going out again.”
He added: “Antibiotics have worked. Letting her home on orals. So she’s home for her birthday, cheers everyone for your messages means a lot. Off to sort wheelie bins.”
Rylan regularly shares his close bond with his mum on social media and in interviews. The two often go on holiday together, last year he shared photos of them together as they travelled to Marbella.
The health update comes just over a week after Linda had joined Instagram, to the delight of her children and fans. After the news of her new social media account, plenty of comments were left from people excited by Linda’s Instagram presence. Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt left five clapping hands emojis.
X Factor singer Christopher Maloney commented: “Hysterical….love our Lind”, with heart-eyed emojis and This Morning presenter Josie Gibson posted “the moment we’ve all been waiting for!”
Linda has a fanbase of her own as she appears on her son’s Saturday afternoon show on BBC Radio 2 and joins him on the sofa for Celebrity Gogglebox. She shared her first post on Instagram last week, posting a photo holding a glass of wine and smiling, it was captioned “Hello Instagram.”
