Coronation Street’s Vicky Myers has shared her delight after receiving a nomination for best actress and best partnership at the Inside Soap Awards 2025. The nominees were revealed this week and the ceremony will celebrate a number of different categories including best actress, best actor, best villain and best comedy performance.
Inside Soap Awards’ Best Exit category has returned for the first time in six years, Emmerdale’s Jane Cox, who portrayed Lisa Dingle, won the accolade in 2019. This year also sees the return of the special Soap Superstar prize, which gives fans the chance to nominate someone who’s gone above and beyond when it comes to providing entertainment over the last year.
To acknowledge her two nominations, Vicky, who is known for playing the role of Lisa Swain on Coronation Street took to Instagram Stories. She wrote: “Absolutely delighted to be nominated for Best Actress and Best Partnership! Thank You so much”, the message was shared alongside a hand prayer emoji.
In May, Vicky was flooded with support as she marked a special milestone. The character has developed into one of the most beloved figures in Weatherfield since she became a series regular. Lisa’s storylines have been dominated by her romance with Carla Connor, played by Alison King.
The popularity of the couple has been recognised and they were also nominated for best on-screen partnership in the British Soap Awards. Lisa’s time on the Cobbles looks set to continue for the foreseeable as her importance to storylines is showing no signs of waning.
The 49-year-old was in disbelief at how quickly time had passed playing the character in Corrie. To mark the anniversary earlier this year, the actress wrote: “Four years of DS Lisa Swain. I can’t quite believe it’s been four years. What a journey, what a story, what a woman, and there’s plenty more to come!
Whether you love her or hate her, thank you. Forever grateful. Thank you @coronationstreet And thank YOU.” Aside from Coronation Street you may have seen Lisa in a number of other roles without realising.
In 2016, she landed her big break in the Harlan Coben series The Five, followed by Channel 4’s Ackley Bridge and The Long Shadow. In 2018, Vicky Myers played Heidi Regan, a cosmetic surgery addict and mother to seven-year-old Disney, a wannabe pageant queen on the BBC television drama Age Before Beauty. In the show, she appeared alongside Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, known for playing Mandy Dingle. The two acted the roles of sisters on the drama.
