Jurgen Klopp has issued a thank you to Robbie Williams as he shared a snap of the two together. The legendary former Liverpool FC manager was in attendance at the Angels singer’s gig in Hannover this week.
The German shared updates from the concert in his home country with his 4.7m Instagram followers. He said: “Thank you for « entertaining » me and 42.000 others @robbiewilliams – was great to meet you again! The post has received over 50,000 likes, including one from Liverpool FC left back Andy Robertson.
Robbie performed in Hanover as part of his BRITPOP tour, which he is taking all over Europe. The 51-year-old performed multiple dates to thousands in attendance in the UK across six dates in London, Manchester and Bath.
Robbie has been sharing updates from the tour with his followers on social media. He took to Instagram to post updates from the show in Germany that Klopp attended.
He said: “Hannover- thank you, that was magic” Klopp has been active on social media ever since he stepped down from his position as Liverpool FC boss last year.
The 56-year-old took over the Reds in 2015 and returned the side to its position as part of football’s elite across his trophy laden spell in charge.
He was back in the city in May to watch as the side he built went on to lift the Premier League trophy in Arne Slot’s first season. Klopp shared photos from the memorable day, alongside his successor.
He said: “Congratulations „Champions!! What a team, what a club, what a season! YNWA.” Since he left Liverpool, Klopp has taken up a new position as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull.

On taking the role in January, he said: “I want people to see us playing and without reading the name on the shirt, they should feel it – they should know (we’re Red Bull).
He added: “What I want to do is develop football – develop football for our clubs, for our players and for our talents, but for football itself as well. Somebody has to take care of that.
“So yes, helping football and in the same moment being successful with Red Bull in the long term is super appealing to me.”
