Emmerdale star Jaye Griffiths may have just revealed her character Celia Daniels’ scheme, and it doesn’t bode well for Kim Tate.
Last month, the Casualty actress was announced to be joining the ITV soap as no-nonsense farmer Celia.
In Monday’s (June 30) episode, now available on ITVX, viewers were introduced to Celia when she proposed a deal to her new neighbour Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb).
She asked the soap icon if she could rent two of her fields, but Moira was reluctant to accept Celia’s proposal due to her notorious reputation.
“Yeah I do need money, just not yours thanks,” Moira responded firmly, reports Belfast Live.

“Your funeral, which considering the level of stress on your face, won’t be that long,” Celia retorted.
Later, Celia encountered Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) in his car while his father, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), was relieving himself at the roadside.
After warning him against trespassing, Celia’s dog attacked Paddy after he rescued a sheep trapped in her fence. His injuries swiftly landed him in hospital, with PC Swirling (Andy Moore) later confirming that he’d have a word with Celia about her dog.
Celia has already made several enemies in just one episode. However, during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine this morning, actor Jaye hinted at another adversary for her character.
“She’s fierce and complex shall we say,” she said, suggesting that Celia could “shake things up” in the village.

Jaye added: “She just wants what she wants, and doesn’t understand why people don’t just give it to her immediately. When you don’t give her what she wants, there’s part of her that goes, ‘Oh, good, we’re going to dance then’. Because she knows ultimately she always gets what she wants, and loves the game.”
The 61-year-old actor was also full of kind words for the Emmerdale team, revealing how they’ve embraced her presence on set.
“It is so welcoming. It is so kind and gentle. No one sees you as a threat. Claire King, who plays Kim, when I joined she wasn’t there, she was having a break. She sent me an email to welcome me, I mean class,” she divulged.
Host Lorraine Kelly then said: “Oh my goodness me, I would love to see the two of them against one another because that would be something, wouldn’t it? And I honestly couldn’t tell you who would come out on top on that one.”
Jaye quickly teased: “Watch this space,” suggesting that fans could expect fireworks between the formidable businesswomen.
