Roman, 32, opened up about his culinary preferences with singer Tom Grennan, 30, during their podcast Introducing About…You!, where they delved into the topic of comfort food and pies.

During their chat, Roman revealed that the most disappointing pie experience he had was during an episode of Sunday Brunch, explaining that despite his fondness for hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, he couldn’t appreciate the pie because it was too early in the day reports the Manchester Evening News.

Speaking candidly to Tom, Roman expressed: “The worst bit of fish pie I’ve ever had in my life, sound awful, really nice bloke, Simon Rimmer, Sunday Brunch.

“The only reason why is that, Sunday Brunch, you’re there for hours, so long. You’re there for long. Love Tim, Love Simon, but it’s a long show and it’s early.”

Describing his struggle with the dish, he said: “It was 8am and I’m trying to stomach this fish pie and they came over and they said ‘What do you think?’ I hate this, I said I didn’t like it.”

Roman’s surprising revelation about his distaste for consuming fish pie at 8am has emerged alongside recent chatter from fans about a change in the Sunday Brunch presenting lineup.

While viewers are accustomed to seeing Simon, who was born in Wallasey, The Wirral, with Tim Lovejoy, there has been a temporary shift as Tim takes a break from hosting duties.

Vicky Pattison

Stepping into the role for this period is the widely recognised TV figure Vicky Pattison, who excitedly shared her involvement with the show in an Instagram announcement, enthusiastically posting: “I HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS! ! ! !

“As a long time friend of @sundaybrunchc4 it is an absolute HONOUR to be wearing a slightly different hat this week! I will be joining my good pal @rimmersimon as his co-host while the lovely @timlovejoy_official has a very well deserved break! ! !

“I am buzzing like an old fridge to chat to all of our gorgeous guests, eat some delicious food and hopefully give anyone watching and nursing a hangover a bit of light comedy reprieve.”

In response to Vicky Pattison’s appearance as a host on the show, fans were full of enthusiasm. One commented: “Joke about Vicky all you want, but its good to have some feminine energy co-presenting and female POV on the sofa while chatting with the guests.”

Another fan took to social media to share their thoughts: “What a breath of fresh air @VickyPattison is #SundayBrunch,” while another remarked: “I honestly don’t think Tim should go, but having Vicki is a nice change from two bald blokes being blokey and exciting only really by any footie talk #sundaybrunch.”
