Gogglebox fan-favourite Daniel Lustig-Webb has revealed one strict rule people on the show must follow.
Since 2013, Channel 4 viewers have been tuning in to watch the sofa critics give their hilarious opinions and thoughts on the latest programmes.
Over the years, fans have seen many families and cast members come and go, including Daniel, who decided to step away from the beloved show in 2023.
The TV star joined the regular roster of faces back in 2019 alongside his then-partner Stephen Webb, who had been on Gogglebox since the beginning.
However, the 50-year-old confessed he couldn’t really hear what Stephen was saying to him as he suffers from hearing loss in one ear after catching mumps as a child.

Not wanting to tell producers at the time, after feeling ’embarrassed’, the former Channel 4 star revealed that due to one rule on the programme, he wasn’t able to move sides with Stephen.
Speaking in the new issue of New! Magazine, he shared: “The producers went, ‘Can you sit here because that’s where Stephen’s former co-stars Chris and his mother had sat?’
“I didn’t speak up and, bless him, Stephen didn’t think about it but it’s not up to him to think about.

“I remember saying that I needed to move sides because I can’t really hear but they said, ‘Well, you always have to sit this side now – that’s how we work.’
“The whole first series, I couldn’t really hear what he was saying half the time.”
Reflecting on his debut on the show, Daniel shared he doesn’t say much but giggles and laughs at Stephen.

However, Daniel revealed he didn’t tell Stephen about his hearing difficulties when they first started dating as he was embarrassed.
Sadly, the pair’s relationship came to an end after six years of marriage in 2024. However, it’s reported they continue to be on good terms as they run a salon together.
At the time of their separation, Daniel said: “We’ve made the decision with a very heavy heart to confirm our marriage has come to an end. I’m sure we will forever be friends.”
