Danielle Lloyd shares health update after hospital check-up.

Danielle Lloyd was diagnosed with skin cancer this year

Danielle Lloyd has shared an update on her skin cancer battle. In February, the model and TV star told fans she has been diagnosed with the disease and was “really shocked” by the diagnosis. She shared an emotional video earlier this year, telling Instagram followers: “I don’t really know how to say this and I didn’t know whether to come on and say it but I feel like I have to raise awareness of this happening to other people. Today I have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer.”

In the time since the diagnosis, Danielle has had tests and regular hospital appointments. In March she had surgery in the hope all the skin cancer would be removed. The former Scouse beauty pageant star told social media followers that she is “trying to be positive” but has not been feeling the best as she could not do things she usually would, such as going the gym.

The 41-year-old has this week returned from a holiday to Ibiza, Spain. Sharing a message on Instagram stories, she said: “I have got back from Ibiza this holiday was different for me I actually had a spray tan before I went on holiday which is unheard of for me.

“I was usually one of those people that are first out to the sun beds, sending the kids down there to put towels on at six in the morning but I didn’t this time I had a spray tan, went there with a tan and felt good the whole holiday and came home still with a tan.”

Danielle told followers she just wanted to “feel safe” after the skin cancer diagnosis and wasn’t bothered about sunbathing. She did enjoy some sun but reminded people “safety is so much more important.”

Sharing a health update, Danielle said: “I went for my check up yesterday at the hospital just to check over my scar and they checked over the rest of my body to see if any other changes. I am having to have another mole removed from my stomach.

“I think it is a precaution. It is a irregular mole, a darker mole, so they are going to remove it and biopsy it and make sure everything is ok but this is another reason to please, please, please check over your body if you see anything that is different. Go to your doctor.”

Opening up and being honest, the former Celebrity Big Brother star announced she “didn’t think that [cancer] was going to happen” as she urged people of the importance of looking after yourself.

She added: “Make sure you’re wearing factor 50 and looking after yourself.”

Danielle has been open about her health battles and previously revealed she had a cyst on her ovary.

Because of her endometriosis and adenomyosis, she underwent an operation to remove the cyst. The star is a mum-of-five.

Cancer Research UK has shared skin cancer symptoms to their website. They say “Skin cancers can look very different and the symptoms can vary. Some of the symptoms are similar to other conditions.”

Common symptoms of skin cancer include a sore or area of skin that:

  • doesn’t heal within 4 weeks
  • looks unusual
  • hurts, is itchy, bleeds, crusts or scabs for more than 4 weeks
