Coronation Street star welcomes new baby – fans adore the name choice

Actress Rebecca Ryan has announced the birth of her second child. The former Coronation Street star was known for playing the part of Lydia Chambers on the Cobbles in 2021.

Despite only having a short stint on the ITV soap, Rebecca was quickly involved in major storylines. Her main storyline was her onscreen counterpart becoming pregnant with Adam Barlow’s child, Sarah Barlow’s husband.

As well a role on Coronation Street, Rebecca has appeared elsewhere on TV including hit shows Waterloo Road, Casualty and Shameless. Away from screen, the actress married partner Dan Acraman in September 2022.

Her second child will be welcomed into Rebecca’s growing family – which already includes her talented soap actor brother. Fans were stunned to learn that Rebecca and Jack James Ryan were siblings when she joined the ITV soap 10 months after he started playing Jacob on the show.

Rebecca and Dan welcomed their first child, a daughter named Aurora in April 2023 and have now welcomed their second child. In a post uploaded to Instagram, Rebecca shared a picture of her baby sleeping on top of a pink blanket.

The post was captioned “Introducing the newest member of my little girl gang, the adorable Oriana.” Messages of congratulations and love were left by fans and friends.

Brother of Rebecca and Coronation Street actor Jack James Ryan commented “Proof that the first time wasn’t a fluke, you make the most beautiful babies” and Abi Webster actress Sally Carman responded “She’s beautiful! Congratulations to you both!”

Former Emmerdale actress Charley Webb wrote “Another beauty and I love the name”, while Corrie’s Elle Mulvaney said “congratulations she is beautiful.”

Fans of Rebecca were also among the supportive commenters. Cait wrote “Congratulations to you all. Such a beautiful name for a perfect little princess. Your’e amazing.”

Samantha agreed “Congratulations to you all! What a little beauty”, Jo also sent well wishes, commenting “Congratulations to you all. She is beautiful. I hope you are well.”
