Coronation Street’s Claire Sweeney praises John Bishop for bringing fun twist to marriage talk: ‘This is fabulous’

John and his wife have been married since 1993

John Bishop and his wife Melanie have enjoyed time together experiencing a new adventure. The couple visited a Zip World location and took on the rapid zip lines and other thrilling rides.

The comedian posted a video of the two as they flew down the zip lines, head first over a lake. John could be heard saying “oh my word” as Melanie added “wow”. As the experience came to an end, John commented “I’m alive. I made it.”

This zip line spans 1.6 kilometres across and 150 meters over the lake, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour. Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is home to the world’s fastest zip line.

Alongside the video posted to Instagram, John wrote: “Spice up your marriage they said. I wanted to dress up but @melbish1 said lets do this ….so we went to @zip_world – thanks to the great team there for a great day.”

Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney was impressed with the brave triumphs of the two, she commented “This is fabulous” and another comment left under the video was “I wouldn’t be me John ! No head for any higher than a step ladder!”

One fan replied “hardcore couple” and another agreed “it looks amazing. I’m very impressed, well done.” Others who had been to the adventure park before reflected on their own experience.

Sinead wrote “Oh my goodness isn’t it just the best fun” and Anna responded “Absolutely Fantastic. I can feel the nervousness and adrenaline.”

John, who grew up in Runcorn, shares three children with his wife Melanie Bishop – Joe, Daniel and Luke. The two have been married since 1993.

The couple’s youngest son is Daniel, born in 1998. Their older sons are Joe born in 1994, and Luke born in 1996. John has previously spoken to the Mirror about his bond with his three boys, and revealed the advice he gave them growing up. He said: “When you grow up try to be a good man.

“I don’t want them thinking money is more important than people. I hate the idea that ambition needs to be more important than reality.”

In January, John sent a special message to his wife as they spent time together on holiday. In a post uploaded to social media, he wrote “When you are into your fourth decade with someone and life means that you spend big chunks of time apart, it is sometimes difficult to find the time and place to reconnect properly.
