Jodie Comer has paid tribute to Everton Football Club and her father as the team plays its final Premier League match at Goodison Park, marking the end of a 133-year chapter.
The Killing Eve actress, who is a lifelong Everton supporter, took to Instagram to share an emotional message on the historic day. She wrote: “Thinking of everyone saying Thank you and Goodbye to GOODISON PARK today. Especially this legend. 28 years at the club and counting. I LOVE YOU DAD! @Everton.” Alongside the message, she posted a photo of her father, Jimmy Comer, who has served as a physiotherapist at Everton for nearly three decades and is a devoted fan of the club.
As thousands of Everton fans gathered around Goodison Park to show their support—chanting, waving flags, and filling the streets with blue smoke—Jodie made sure to acknowledge the significance of the moment from afar.
Despite her rising fame, Jodie has always stayed connected to her Merseyside roots and the football club that means so much to her family. In a 2024 interview with The Guardian, she was asked whether she would prefer to win an Oscar or see Everton win the Premier League. Without hesitation, she said she’d rather see the club lift the trophy, just to witness the happiness it would bring to her dad and brother.
While she now spends much of her time away from Liverpool due to her acting career, Jodie continues to show her loyalty to Everton. She recently revealed she would be returning to her hometown for a performance of Prima Facie, the critically acclaimed play that earned her a Tony Award for her portrayal of a young barrister navigating the legal world.
As Everton prepares to move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, Jodie Comer’s heartfelt tribute serves as a reminder of the emotional ties fans and families have to Goodison Park—especially those, like her father, who have dedicated a lifetime to the club.
