Lorraine Kelly shares what’s been frustrating for her since having surgery, as she makes her return to work.

Lorraine Kelly shared the one frustrating thing since her surgery as she returned to work on Monday

Lorraine Kelly expressed her frustration about something she’s currently unable to do after recently undergoing surgery. The 65-year-old Scottish TV presenter had an operation earlier this month to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, which kept her away from her show, Lorraine, while she recovered.

She returned to work on Monday, 19 May, first appearing on Good Morning Britain, where co-host Susanna Reid complimented her on how well she looked. Lorraine then spoke about the reason for her surgery, explaining that she had suffered a burst ovarian cyst during a flight back from India in January.

She explained that after undergoing a scan, doctors found something suspicious on another cyst. To be safe and avoid any serious health issues, they decided to remove it, according to Edinburgh Live.

Lorraine shared that she had keyhole surgery, joking that she now has “three new holes” from the procedure used to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. Thankfully, she confirmed that everything went well and there was nothing concerning.

Despite the positive outcome, she admitted there’s one frustrating part of recovery — after just one night in the hospital and two weeks of rest, she now has to take it easy. The most difficult part for her? She’s not allowed to lift her granddaughter, Billie, which she finds really frustrating.

Lorraine recalled going for a check-up with her daughter Rosie, and they brought baby Billie along. Their doctor, Mr. Raafat, was holding Billie when Lorraine asked when she’d be allowed to hold her granddaughter again. She laughed, describing Billie as “a gorgeous chunk,” and said the doctor told her she’d have to wait until the end of the month.

Earlier in May, Lorraine had shared a video message explaining her situation. She said she wasn’t feeling well for a while and was undergoing a minor procedure. She revealed that tests and scans had shown she needed to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

It comes as Lorraine took to Instagram on Thursday night to confirm her return to Lorraine

Lorraine explained that the surgery was purely preventative and done using keyhole techniques, which she called “incredible.” She said she had been very well looked after and reassured fans that she would be totally fine, adding that she’d see them again soon.

The day after the surgery, Lorraine took to Instagram to share her thanks. She expressed her deep gratitude to the kind and caring team at Heatherwood Hospital who looked after her. She said she was now back home, resting as instructed, and gave a special thanks to her surgeon, Mr. Ahmed Rafaat, for being so reassuring throughout the process.
