“Please never change & don’t let anyone ever stop you achieving your dreams. Looking forward to you making me laugh today the way you have for the last 21yrs.”

Despite Mia’s birthday landing on a Wednesday this year, the family waited until last night to celebrate. Bootle-born Jamie dressed up as Willy Wonka for the occasion, wearing a top hat and holding a cane to look the part.

Nicola Carragher looked impressive as she dressed up as Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Her faced was painted blue and she wore an inflatable suit, in a nod to one the movie’s most famous scenes.

It has been a busy few months Mia, she played the leading role in a new film which sees a night out descend into ‘chaos’. The 21 year-old trained at Liverpool-based performing arts school Rare Studio, which is located in Wood Street in the city centre.

Mia plays one of the leading roles in the movie called ‘The Watering Hole’. In The Watering Hole, Mia stars as Liv, along with Ana played by Isabella Pinto and Ant played by Peter York. The film’s plot centres around Liv and Ana rinsing a man of his wallet in a local pub.

It is a drama that explores the perspectives of the three characters, flipping between each one. Handheld cameras and wide lenses have been used to try and give audiences insight into each character’s viewpoint. The more drunk they get, the more the film mirrors their mental state. The movie is available to stream now.

Mia got to where she is now through several smaller roles. As an 11-year-old in 2015, she appeared in the music video for Scouting for Girls single Life’s Too Short, a singalong love song. She had already been in another video, for Amsterdam-based artist Jyra’s dance track Feelin’ Good.
