Viewers Finally Clock Where Coronation Street’s Mick Actor Is From

Coronation Street fans have been left gobsmacked after recognising Mick Michaelis actor Joe Layton from previous roles.

Joe made his first appearance on the soap earlier this year, playing the role of thug Mick – who arrived in Weatherfield with his wife Lou (Farrel Hegarty). Labelled as “nightmare neighbours,” the pair quickly stirred up some drama.

After settling into Mawdsley Street on the cobbles, Mick and Lou formed a friendship with Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).

In addition to causing a stir among residents like Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), last month, Mick revealed his violent side when he savagely attacked Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton).

The attack occurred after Mick discovered that Sean had reported his son Brody (Ryan Mulvey), who has been bullying Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) at the STC, reports Leicestershire Live.

This week on the soap, it was unveiled that Mick and corrupt police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) share a significant connection – with an episode delving into their past set to air.

Moreover, despite only arriving a few months ago, it was recently announced that both Lou and Mick will be leaving the cobbles this summer following a dramatic storyline.

Before joining Corrie, Mick actor Joe was already familiar with TV audiences. He’s had roles in shows such as Agents Of S.H. I.E. L.D and Young Wallander.

Fans of the BBC drama Thirteen are having a lightbulb moment as they recall Joe Layton’s role in the gripping series. Joe, who played Craig Watts in the 2016 show, starred alongside Jodie Comer, who portrayed Ivy Moxam, a woman who breaks free after 13 years of captivity.

Social media is abuzz with fans expressing their surprise at connecting Joe to his part as Craig, Ivy’s sister’s fiancé. One fan excitedly shared on a Corrie Facebook fan page: “Literally just remembered that the actor who plays Mick was in the Jodie Comer drama Thirteen.”

Others joined in the revelation, with comments like “I thought I recognised him!” and “Oh yeah you’re right.”
