Emmerdale actor Joe-Warren Plant has enjoyed time away from the set of the ITV soap as he jetted off on holiday with his girlfriend, Isabella. He has portrayed the role of Jacob Gallagher in the fictional village since 2010.
During his time in the village, the actor has been involved in many prominent storylines. This includes finding out he is adopted and the biological son of Leyla Harding.
Other storylines include being groomed by Maya Stepney and having to deal with the death of his mum after a dramatic limo crash. He has also highlighted the pressures the NHS are under as he spent time working in a hospital.
Off-screen, Joe shares glimpses of his personal life on social media. His most recent Instagram post showed the 23-year-old enjoying time in Barcelona, Spain. A series of images shared by the actor was captioned: “Estrella the goat, Aperol close second.”
Pictures included Joe and Isabella together in Barcelona, enjoying food and drink. One photo shows the two looking sun kissed after spending time in the European city.
Joe and his girlfriend have been dating since January, just months after he and his previous girlfriend split. The Emmerdale star and model Anna Norton split in September last year.
While his new girlfriend has a private Instagram account, reposts from her account to Joe’s have given fans an insight into their relationship. A first photo from the two was shared in January after the two posed for a mirror selfie and uploaded the snap to Instagram stories.
Commenting on the post from their time in Barcelona, fans and colleagues of the star wished the couple well. Laura Norton who plays Kerry Wyatt on Emmerdale left a red heart emoji.
A fan of the soap star commented: “Beautiful. I was the weird girl that asked if your Jacob on Emmerdale and shared the flight with you! Hope you had the best time. Pics look fab.”
Another follower posted “@joewarren_plant Lovely couple Joe. Hope you both have a great time.” While a further message read “Looks rather nice and warm. Enjoy your time.”
Joe has recently reunited with his on-screen mum and dad. Leyla Harding star Roxy Shahidi saw her character die after a limo she was in plunged into an icy lake. David Metcalfe star Matthew Wolfenden left the soap in 2023.
The two former co-stars have become great friends since they both appeared on Emmerdale. They host a podcast together called ‘Celebrity Side Hustles’.
Yesterday, Roxy said “watch this space” as a snippet of the new podcast with Joe was teased. She added: “Look who popped in to the Matt & Roxy’s Celebrity Side Hustles studio… This was an emotional one – watch this space.”
