Meghan Markle gives an update about their son and family life.

The Duchess of Sussex has sent a special message to her and Prince Harry’s son, Prince Archie. Meghan Markle shared a photo of her son to Instagram as the family celebrated his birthday.

The photo showed Archie standing in front of a sunset as the heartfelt caption read: “Our son. Our sun. Happy sixth birthday to Archie! Thank you all for the love, prayers and warm wishes for our sweet boy.”

The former actress couldn’t believe the age of her son as she wrote “He’s six! Where did the time go?” The Duchess and Prince Harry held a birthday party for Archie last week.

Thanking friends and family, Meghan added: “And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special.”

While the comments weren’t turned on for the post, many famous faces and fans liked the adorable image. Among those liking the post were Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, actress Fiona Wade and Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse.

Archie has made a number of appearances on Meghan’s Instagram feed since the duchess launched her As Ever business. Meghan has recently shown Archie baking alongside Lili as they made cookies for cast and crew when she appeared on the Drew Barrymore Show.

He has also been pictured picking roses in the Sussexes’ Montecito garden, and walking barefoot hand in hand with Harry while Lili was carried on the duke’s shoulders.

Born on May 2, 2019, the King’s grandson was named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and only became a prince after the death of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

He is sixth in line to the throne and moved to the US when he was 10 months old after his parents stepped down as senior working royals for a new life in California.

Harry and Meghan’s love story began with a blind date in 2016 and peaked with a royal wedding in 2018. Since then the two have launched their own careers and projects away from royal life.

Meghan regularly shares family updates to her social media account. In January, she shared a ‘devastating’ family loss as she wrote a moving tribute to her dog, Guy, telling followers he had passed away.

She adopted the beagle from a Canadian dog rescue in 2015. he had been at a kill shelter and was only given a few days to live before Meghan took him in. Talking about her dog, she said “he was the best guy any girl could have asked for.”

‌In an Instagram post the Duchess shared a heartbreaking video of the memories she has shared with Guy from walks to adorable selfies and Harry cuddling him. The 43-year-old used to share a lot of photos of Guy when she was in Suits and recalled his presence when she got engaged and became a mum, saying: “the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort.”

Meghan said: “He endured a terrible accident shortly before I moved to the UK which had him undergoing surgeries for several months and unable to leave the clinic.
