Love Island stars expected to reveal behind-the-scenes secrets in exciting 10th anniversary special.

Love Island is rumoured to be gearing up for a grand celebration of its 10-year milestone with an exclusive documentary. Word has it that some of the reality show’s “biggest stars” are set to grace the special, which is timed perfectly with the anniversary celebrations this summer.

ITV rebooted Love Island in June 2015, breathing new life into the original celebrity-focused series that originally aired briefly from 2005 to 2006.

Buzz is that preparations are in full swing for the tenth anniversary of the revamped series, with the big day just a couple of months away. Reports suggest that a documentary will be broadcast before the upcoming season of Love Island, commemorating this landmark event.

It’s hinted that past Islanders will spill the beans on behind-the-scenes antics while reminiscing over clips from the show.

According to The Sun, the documentary is expected to mirror the style of Channel 4’s Gogglebox, featuring former contestants reflecting on “stand-out moments” from the eleven seasons since 2015, reports the Mirror.

The publication also revealed that some of Love Island alumni, including Dani Dyer, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Maura Higgins, Olivia Attwood, and Zara McDermott, are tipped to make appearances in the anniversary special.

A source spilled to The Sun that viewers should brace themselves for some juicy revelations. They divulged: “You can expect quite a few of them to reveal some seriously behind-the-scenes stories from their time in the villa.”

The insider revealed: “Love Island fans will be thrilled at the prospect, not least because ITV have brought back some of the show’s best known stars. This includes some of the most famous couples, some of whom are still together.”

It all kicked off in 2015 with the first series of the rebooted Love Island, originally presented by the beloved Caroline Flack, between June and July. Since then, we’ve seen ten more series with Laura Whitmore stepping into Caroline’s shoes in 2020, followed by the fabulous Maya Jama taking the reins in 2023.

Famed former islander Olivia really made her mark on the third series of Love Island in 2017, securing a third-place finish alongside Chris Hughes in the much-talked-about dating contest, which was ultimately won by Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay that summer.

Dani joins the list of show victors, having bagged the top spot in the fourth series with Jack Fincham back in 2018. Castmate Zara had her moment in the same run of Love Island but left the islanders behind less than a fortnight into her journey.

Hot on their heels came Maura in the following series, battling it out to the final, only to watch Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea snatch the crowning glory. Fast forward to 2022, Ekin-Su and Davide Sanclimenti charmed their way to victory in the eighth series of Love Island.

Marking a decade since its launch, Love Island expanded its matchmaking empire with All Stars, welcoming back some familiar faces to the villa. The spin-off proved a hit, featuring Ekin-Su among others, who returned for the second series earlier this year.
