Charlotte Jordan is waving goodbye to her role as Daisy Midgeley, leaving Coronation Street after an impactful and drama-filled run of nearly five years. Fear not, soap fans – she’s not going far from the dramatic twists of soap life.
Making a splash in Weatherfield back in 2020 as Jenny Connor’s stepdaughter, Daisy arrived with a complicated past, seeking solace at the pub and rekindling ties with Jenny after an estranged period. Daisy quickly became the one to watch, instigating the end of Jenny’s marriage to Johnny Connor and playing a critical part in severing the romance between Ryan Connor and Alya Nazir.
Nothing short of sensational storylines followed, as Daisy found herself entangled in a blackmail scheme and lived through the horror of an acid attack, orchestrated by obsessive Justin Rutherford. Her craftiness knew no bounds when she snagged co-ownership of the legendary Rovers Return with Jenny and navigated through a web of lies in a paternity puzzle, until a devastating hit-and-run dashed her hopes for motherhood, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The curtain is set to fall on Daisy’s chapter in Weatherfield, with her last episode airing on Friday, 2 May. In January, Charlotte shared the news of her departure from the soap and remarked: “My time at Coronation Street is something I’ll always cherish.
“After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it’s time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much.”
While the 30 year old actress has become a familiar face on Corrie since sweeping into scenes in late 2020, she was previously bathing in Netflix success with her standout role as Gaby Grant in Free Rein for two seasons.
Looking back at her acting debut, Charlotte initially stepped into the spotlight with an appearance on The Bill in 2007, when she went by the name of Charlie Evans. She continued her early career under this moniker with a gig as Serena in the Nickelodeon series Summer in Transylvania, from 2011 to 2012.

Jumping to 2016, she adopted the name Charlotte Jordan and dived into the film industry with Angel of Decay and even made a guest appearance on BBC’s Casualty. After these roles, she saddled up for Free Rein and then made her way onto the Coronation Street set.
Yet, Charlotte almost took a detour toward a music career. Speaking with Metro, she divulged: “When I was 15 and in my last year at school, I auditioned for a band that was being created by Simon Fuller and Geri Halliwell.”
She shared details about the experience: “It was a development deal, which means we spent a lot of time bonding, doing choreography and recording songs in the studio – sometimes cool songs, sometimes naff songs. You just try to find your sound.
“When they felt like we’d exhausted all options as a group, I was offered a solo deal. I did that for another two years and then, as I got older, I realised that acting was what I actually wanted to do and decided to go back to it. Just because you can sing, doesn’t necessarily mean you should be a singer.”

Interestingly, fans have often been surprised by Charlotte’s genuine accent. During an appearance on This Morning, just before her final scenes on Corrie, viewers were taken aback to discover that she didn’t have a northern accent, despite her convincing portrayal of Daisy. In reality, Charlotte hails from Cobham, Surrey.
One fan commented on X, formerly Twitter: “I didn’t expect Daisy to sound like that! Great northern accent.” Another asked: “Her voice?!” A third noted: “She suits the Manc accent that she acts with.”
Since joining Corrie, Charlotte has accumulated an impressive array of prestigious awards. At the British Soap Awards 2023, she took home the Best Dramatic Performance Award and was also nominated for Best Leading Performer.

Furthermore, she achieved a double win at the Royal Television Society’s (RTS) North West Awards, securing the Best Performance in a Continuing Drama Award, while Coronation Street won the Best Continuing Drama Storyline award for Daisy’s stalking plot.
Meanwhile, Charlotte recently revealed her plans post-Corrie during an appearance on This Morning. “I do feel excited; it’s a fresh start,” she said with a sparkle in her eye. “I feel like I’ve done a lot of soapy things. I’ve done the checklist. [Coronation Street] has been really good to me, and it just feels like time for a new beginning.”
The show’s soap expert Sharon Marshall couldn’t resist teasing: “But next, The Archers?” Charlotte, with a hint of reservation, confirmed her upcoming role but kept the juicy details under wraps.
“Yes, I am. I am joining The Archers, which is really fun,” she revealed. “I start very soon, I can’t say very much about it, but the character will ruffle some feathers. That’s what I can say.”
