Coronation Street’s Lou actress previously appeared on the soap in a different role.

Mick and Lou in Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s latest addition, Farrel Hegarty, has spilled the beans on her previous stint on the soap before she returned as the feisty Lou Michaelis.

The star burst onto the scene as the mischievous Lou earlier this year, quickly earning the label of “nightmare neighbours” alongside her on-screen hubby Mick (played by Joe Layton).

The pair made their mark on Mawdsley Street, causing a stir among the locals, despite forming a bond with Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston).

Lou and Mick didn’t just befriend some of Weatherfield’s residents; they also stirred up trouble, clashing with the likes of Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) and Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

In a shocking turn of events last month, Mick unleashed his violent streak by savagely attacking Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton), after discovering Sean had reported his son Brody (Ryan Mulvey) for bullying Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) at the STC.

Despite only arriving a few months back, it’s been announced that both Lou and Mick will bid farewell to the cobbles this summer following an explosive plot twist.

Coronation Street Lou's sick plan for Audrey 'revealed' - and she needs to be careful

Farrel Hegarty has thoroughly enjoyed her time portraying Lou, finding the role “brilliant” even though Lou’s antics sometimes make Farrel “wince”, reports Leicestershire Live.

However, it’s not Farrel’s first rodeo on Coronation Street. In a chat with Leicester Live and other media outlets, the actress unveiled the part she previously played on the show.

Farrel couldn’t help but joke about her brief appearance on the show, saying: “I played a reporter in 2019. It was in the Boxing Day episode, I think I had to say my name and it was just reporter 1!”.

Reflecting on her initial soap experience, she shared: “It feels like a full circle moment which makes it even more exciting. But this is definitely my first big role.”

Not only has Farrel Hegarty graced the cobbles of Corrie, but she also popped up in Emmerdale back in 2014 as Laura Atkinson. Plus, she’s shone on screen with Michelle Keegan – Coronation Street’s Tina – in the Sky comedy Brassic.
