Fans of Coronation Street were completely taken aback when they heard Daisy Midgeley star Charlotte Jordan speak in her ‘real accent’ on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old actress appeared on This Morning to chat about her dramatic departure from the soap this week and to spill the beans on her exciting new gig.
Viewers, who are accustomed to Daisy’s Northern twang on Corrie, were astonished to learn that in real life, Charlotte hails from Surrey.
Twitter, now X, went ablaze with comments as fans expressed their shock at hearing Charlotte’s ‘real accent’, with tweets like: “I didn’t expect Daisy to sound like that! Great northern accent #thismorning”, “She suits the Manc accent that she acts with #thismorning” and “Her voice? ! #thismorning.”

In the same interview, Charlotte dropped a bombshell about her upcoming role, teasing her involvement in The Archers by saying: “So yes, I start very soon, I can’t say much about it but the character will ruffle some feathers, that’s all I can say!”, reports Belfast Live.
Daisy is set to bow out from the cobbles with a bang this week in an ‘explosive exit’ that will have viewers gripped.
Ben Shephard, hosting This Morning, quizzed Charlotte about whether we might see Daisy stroll back onto the street someday, to which she gratefully replied: “They’ve been really good to me.
“When I said: ‘I think it’s time for me to go’, I was fully prepared for them to sort of run me over. Fair enough! I was very very grateful that they’ve left the door open and said if I’d like to come back, I can, so very sweet.”
Daisy’s time on the cobbles has been nothing short of dramatic, with a secret pregnancy that ended in a heartbreaking miscarriage, a catfishing scandal, and complicated love affairs.

In upcoming episodes, viewers can expect emotional scenes as Jenny Connor begs her stepdaughter Daisy to reconsider her decision to leave.
A poignant conversation with Daniel Osbourne will also play a pivotal role in Daisy’s final moments on the show, leaving fans hoping that Daniel’s words might change the feisty barmaid’s mind.
Earlier this month, Charlotte spoke about Daisy’s departure, saying: “I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy to be leaving. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.

“As for me, I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with.
“Producer Kate has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy’s exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice.
“Coronation Street is a very special building, and I have loved it. And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.”
