Natalie Cassidy is gearing up to lead a fresh BBC series just weeks her final appearance as Sonia Fowler in EastEnders.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the actress would be bidding farewell to the BBC soap after more than three decades. However, she’s now bagged a new gig on the same network.

Natalie will be realising a lifelong dream by training as a carer, studying and working alongside the upcoming generation of young carers.

The soap star will enrol at one of the UK’s leading Health and Social Care colleges, where she’ll train, study, and work side-by-side with actual professionals, experiencing the realities, heartbreaks, and joys of caregiving.
