JoJo Siwa opens up about breakup and clears up rumors regarding her relationship with Chris Hughes

JoJo Siwa broke her silence on her split and relationship with Chris Hughes on Monday’s This Morning.

JoJo, 21, reunited with Love Island star Chris, 32, once again on Monday just days after leaving Celebrity Big Brother with the duo also spending time together over the weekend.

The duo became fast friends on the recent ITV reality series with fans quickly speculating about their relationship.

It comes after JoJo’s split with ex-partner Kath Ebbs, after JoJo dumped them at the Celebrity Big Brother after party just hours after the show came to an end on Friday.

Kath, 27, flew over to London to join JoJo after she won third place on the ITV show, and opted to see her later in the day rather than being there to meet her as soon as she left the house.

However, things didn’t go to plan – while Kath wanted to talk through what they saw on screen, the Aussie podcaster claimed that JoJo ended things.

The “shocked” TV presenter shared a long video on Instagram after the event, saying in part: “The story goes right now in the last eight hours or whatever, I flew here and I went to the live show to show up for my partner and support them in their experience and then later on address my feelings of hurt and work through them like all relationships do…

“But before I could even get back to the hotel, it is actually crazy, I went to the after party with my now ex – crazy thing to say – and I was dumped in the party.”

On Monday’s This Morning, JoJo broke her silence on her split and friendship with Chris. The singer and dancer was asked by host Cat Deeley: “There’s been so many different reports over this weekend, what’s the truth?”

To which JoJo admitted: “Honestly, when I went into the house, day one fun, day two fun, well, day two actually wasn’t that fun with you know who.

“But then honestly day three I was now in my own thoughts, away from everyone I know, away from outside opinions, away from everything and I sat with myself.

“From that point on, I really realised things that I was okay with in my life that I should never have been okay with.”

Host, Cat, then asked: “Do you mean your relationship?” to which JoJo explained: “Just so many things, that is one of them.

“But so many things and obviously I wanted to hold them inside because I didn’t want to air that out very publicly but there were countless things, where I was like that’s not something I should be okay with or need to be okay with and I’m not happy.

“I knew as soon as I got out I wanted to fix things in my life and make the changes I needed to make.” JoJo added that despite it being just days in the Celebrity Big Brother house, it felt like four years.

She continued: “The first thing you want to do when you get out is exactly what you need to do in your life to make it as good as you can, I think I realised just how not great things were but I was pretending they were great. It’s been hard but it’s been good and I’m very happy where I am now, I’m very grateful that I had you [Chris] in there for support and comfort.”

This prompted host Ben Shephard to point out: “You did it very quickly, you made those changes at the wrap party by all accounts your ex has come out and talked about that as well, so that’s obviously going to shine a light on it…”

JoJo replied: “Yeah and I’ll be honest, that was not a plan, that was not an intention that was not supposed to happen like that. Initially I was told that the wrap party was something they didn’t want to attend and then about an hour into the wrap party they decided they wanted to.

“So I was genuinely just going to have a conversation before and then it just led to another, they asked me: ‘Am I happy’ and I said: ‘No’. One thing led to another and that conversation did take place there.”

Host Ben then asked: “What’s your relationship and what’s going on between the two of you?” to which JoJo replied: “Obviously we’re close, obviously we’re tight.”

Chris added: “The thing is our friendship is like, it’s just hard to explain, it’s just a really strong bond between two people, which is just a strong friendship. I think you can have a soulmate friendship, I think it’s a thing!”

Ben then asked: “So it’s platonic right now but JoJo would you like it to be romantic, I mean he’s a gorgeous boy!”

To which JoJo replied: “Look, he’s a great guy, it is platonic, we had a lot of fun together, life is life and I don’t know any future of anything but I am really grateful for our dynamic that we have and our bond that we have. Whatever life does, life will do.”

Later in the episode, Ben asked: “Are you going to be staying a little longer over here or are you going to be going to the States?”

To which JoJo confirmed: “I leave tonight, today!” with Chris admitting: “Sad times, heartbreak hotel!”
