Paddy ‘the Baddy’ Pimblett and his wife were flooded with support as they celebrated a special milestone. The Huyton-born MMA fighter defeated Michael Chandler at UFC 314 in Miami earlier this month.

This maintained the 30 year-old’s undefeated record in the UFC. Away from the cage, Paddy is married to Laura Pimblett. They tied the knot in 2023 in a ceremony attended by the likes of fellow UFC star Molly McCann and singer Jamie Webster last year.

Paddy, 29, and Laura have been together since they were teenagers. He proposed to her while they were on holiday in Thailand three years ago. The couple have twins together called Betsy and Margot Pimblett, who were born on April 17 2024.

In a joint Instagram post last Thursday, the couple celebrated their kids’ first birthday. They shared a video montage of the twins’ life so far.

In the accompanying caption, Laura said: “Happy first Birthday to my darling girls Betsy & Margot. A year ago today I was blessed with the most cheekiest gorgeous girls! I am so lucky to be your mamma! Can’t wait to make lots more memories tomorrow on our holidays.”

Later Instagram posts from Laura show the family are currently in Dubai. They are staying at the Rixos Premium Dubai JBR hotel in the United Arab Emirates.

The post received over 65,00 likes. Hundreds of people also sent their support to the family in the comments section. Natasha Smith said: “Happy first birthday to the most beautiful little girls we hope they have the best day and send them all our love and cuddles.”

Another person commented: “Happy first birthday to your beautiful girls! You should be so proud of the mum and dad that you both are.”

Rachael Webster added: “Happy first birthday gorgeous girls, hope you all have a fabulous day.” Collette Green said: “Happy first birthday gorgeous girls Margot and Betsy have a fantastic day little ones. Loads of love.”

Last September, they enjoyed their first holiday together as a family. In an Instagram post earlier this month, Paddy shared numerous photos of them on holiday in Alcúdia, a town in Majorca, Spain. The fighter hinted there could be more additions to come.

Paddy said: “What a trip away to Alcudia, first one of many, just the four of us making family memories until we become a five or a fix or a seven, you just never know.” He followed this with a laughing emoji and tagged Laura in the post.

Many fans took to the comments to send their support to the family. Aidan Farrelly said: “That’s what it’s all about. Beautiful family.” Ellis said: “Aww boss photos! Have a boss time Paddy and Laura, the babies are so cute.” Keyleigh Lawrenson added: “Your babies are so bloody cute! Always smiling!”

Paddy gave an honest update about his family last month when he visited Liverpool FC’s training ground to speak to the Liverpool under 18s team. When asked how he was finding life as a dad of twins during a Q&A session, he replied: “It’s hard work. Proper hard work.”

This drew laughs from the audience but Paddy went on to give out some honest advice. He urged the young footballers to try and shut out any difficulties they might be facing in their personal lives when they enter the field.

He said: ”You can’t think about any negatives going into a fight or a match. If I’m going into a fight and I’m 98 percent positive, sure of myself and believe in myself, that two percent is going to override the 98 percent and I’m not going to win. The main thing for me is to believe in myself.”
