Chesney Hawkes was left on the brink of tears in the Celebrity Big Brother house after a sharp criticism from Ella Rae Wise.
In this week’s explosive nominations, where celebs had to give their nominations face-to-face, tensions were high, leaving some stars quite emotional.
Ella decided to nominate Chesney, accusing him of not stepping up to defend her when Mickey Rourke made an inappropriate sexual remark, pointing out that Chesney was present at the time.
An upset Chesney confided in JoJo Siwa, becoming visibly moved as JoJo described Ella’s comments as having a “bad tone.”
Chesney reflected: “It was pretty mean,” suggesting that Ella was “trying to get a rise” out of him with her accusations.
Ella decided to nominate Chesney, accusing him of not stepping up to defend her when Mickey Rourke made an inappropriate sexual remark, pointing out that Chesney was present at the time.
Chesney lamented: “She was upset and she was angry and she kind of took it out on me, unfairly, I would say. I think the comment she made about me was the harshest one in that room to be honest. She questioned my being a man and not standing up for her.”
Describing Ella’s remark as a “That’s not a little flick, that’s a low blow,” JoJo comforted the distressed singer, assuring him he is a “good man,” reports the Mirror. A shaken Chesney, while in the Diary Room, admitted: “I’m a bit rattled to be honest, it’s mainly Ella’s nomination for me and what she said that has kinda upset me. The fact that she called me out and said I should have stood up felt a little bit harsh.
“I understand she was upset, she was probably lashing out. I feel like I have been protective of her.”
However, Ella later sought to address the issue, telling Chesney, “a little protection would have been nice.” He replied, “I’m a protective father of three, they’re your age the kids. it would absolutely kill me if you thought I wouldn’t be a man.”
Ella was reduced to tears following remarks from Hollywood icon Mickey before his exit from the house. During a challenge, Ella announced, “I have instructions for us all. We’re not allowed in the bedroom, no one is allowed to touch the crisps or sweets,” as she briefed the group.
Mickey retorted, “I don’t like them,” leading Ella to say, “You’ve got to come with me!”
The movie star then left everyone stunned with his response: “Come in you?” After the cringeworthy remark, Drag Race celeb Danny Beard stepped in, admonishing, “Mickey, you can’t make them jokes.”
A distressed Ella headed to the diary room to express her discomfort: “He’s making me feel on edge. I’m a young girl. I’m not a piece of meat. He’s making people feel so uneasy.”
In a dramatic turn of events on the show, The Only Way Is Essex’s Ella found herself in hot water after Big Brother called her out for flouting a key rule. During a heart-to-heart with children’s TV icon Angellica Bell, Ella confided: “I feel like I’ll be next up because who else would it be.
“JoJo and Chris won’t put each other up, Jack won’t put Chris or JoJo up and Chesney won’t put either of them up. They’re not going to put Danny up are they or Donna, do you know what I mean, or you.”
She continued, expressing her resignation: “If it was me I’ll be honest, I’d be quite happy, I’ve had enough now, I’m happy to go home and get back to normal life.”
However, her candid remarks landed her in trouble with Big Brother, resulting in her being banished to the garden jail. While serving her time, she was reduced to tears, struggling to cope with the consequences of her actions.
As her breach of the rules came to light, she admitted to her fellow contestants that she was prepared to leave the house.
