Dianne Buswell Reveals Her Future on Strictly Come Dancing

Dianne Buswell has confirmed her future on BBC dance show, Strictly Come Dancing. The dancer was last year’s winner after she won over the nation with Scouse comedian Chris McCausland.

In an Instagram post uploaded by the Australian dancer on the weekend, a video of her time on the famous dance floor was shared with followers. The post was captioned “So excited to be back on strictly for my ninth year. (Almost longer than I did at school).”

The reigning Strictly winner reflected on last year’s success, as she added: “Last year made me have a whole new sense of gratitude towards this show.

“The opportunities I have been given will never be taken for granted and I will always continue to feel that way towards Strictly aka (the best show on telly).”

Dianne concluded her message: “P.s gentle reminder BAFTA VOTING CLOSES SOON (voting details in my bio ) love ya.” Chris and Dianne are among the nominees for the Bafta P&O Cruises ‘Memorable Moment’ award. The award is voted on by the public and aims to celebrate the most impactful parts of the year’s television.

Unlike some of the other couples, the pair went their separate ways when Dianne joined her co-stars on the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour and Chris proceeded with his stand-up tour, Yonks, earlier this year.

The professional dancer and celebrity partner, who are the second-ever to be nominated following Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, are nominated for their performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone. A song they performed twice on the show.

Chris and Dianne share a podcast together and have spoken about their achievements several times. Ahead of the BAFTA awards, Dianne said: “Here’s just a gentle reminder as we don’t like to brag and of course winning isn’t everything.

“BUT GO VOTE if you haven’t already for Chris and I to get the BAFTA for most memorable TV moment. Honestly though thank you to everybody that has already voted and thanks in advance for those heading there now.”

Fans and friends of the 35-year-old were happy to hear that Dianne would be returning for another series of Strictly Come Dancing. EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick commented: “Go on the Buzz.”

Amy Dowden, Strictly co-star wrote: “Yes she is” with a heart emoji and Lauren Oakley commented: “Buzzy’s Backkkk.” Another fellow dancer Gorka Marquez was also among those supporting Dianne as he responded “Yeah!”, with three clapping hands emojis.

Strictly fans commented “Soo pleased for you!! Season nine let’s gooo”, with a red heart emoji. A second added: “Congratulations wouldn’t be the same without our reigning champion. Looking forward to you and Chris doing your champions return dance.”

A third comment said: “So over the moon that you’re back can’t wait to be supporting you for another year.” Another said: “The champ is back. So excited to see what you do this year and also can’t wait to watch you and Chris perform on launch show!!”
