Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall has issued a special message for Coleen Rooney in an update today on Instagram. The soap star is renowned for his role as Tyrone Dobbs on the Cobbles. Coleen finished runner-up on the latest series of I’m a Celebrity and her co-stars rushed to social media to support the star on a special day.
Coleen has been married to the former Everton FC striker Wayne Rooney since 2008 and they are the proud parents of four children. Today (April 3) the mum celebrated her 39th birthday.
Her husband Wayne was one of the first to take to social media in a post on Instagram. He wrote: “Happy Birthday to the best. Thanks for everything @coleen_rooney.”
Fans took to the comments to wish the star a happy birthday. One said: “Happy birthday Coleen have a great day xx”, as another added: “Happy Birthday Coleen.”

Wayne wasn’t the only celebrity to send the star a loving message. BBC Radio One presenter Dean McCullough also posted on his story as he wrote: “Happy birthday @coleen_rooney [love heart emoji]. Coleen responded: “Aww love this…Thank you.”
Croxteth born Coleen became close friends with Coronation Street star, Alan Halsall, during their time in the jungle together. The 42-year-old joined the ITV soap in 1998 and has become one of the Weatherfield’s most important characters.
The actor remains at the centre of the drama as his onscreen mum, played by Claire Sweeney, has fallen back into her drug addiction struggles in the show.
Alan posted a story on Instagram for Coleen’s birthday as he wrote: “Happy Birthday @coleen_rooney. Have a great day! Sending [love heart emoji] from sunny Thailand. Al and Sienna xxx.” He also joked: “How can you have another birthday but look even younger.”

Alan issued the update from a luxury location as he has jetted off to Thailand with his daughter. The soap star is the proud dad of one as he shares his daughter, Sienna, with ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
He took to social media yesterday (April 3) to reveal the two have jetted off for a family trip to Thailand. The holiday seems to confirm Alan will not be attending this year’s Aintree races as the soap star has been a regular at the iconic steeplechase over recent years.
He shared a snap of the two with his 325,000 followers against an incredible beachfront backdrop in Thailand. He captioned the post: “Just getting into the swing of Thailand life.” The post received thousands of likes, including from Coleen Rooney.
Coleen revealed in an interview with the Daily Star how Alan is planning to get her a role in Corrie. She said: “Alan is trying to get me behind the bar in Coronation Street.
“I loved performing arts and acting when I was younger. I always went to drama classes.” The I’m a Celeb runner-up thinks being in the spotlight means people would struggle to accept her playing a character.
Coleen added: “I feel like it would be hard to get into the industry. People see me as me, especially after I’m A Celebrity. If I did a role, I think it would be hard for people to see me as the character.”
