Gareth Pierce, who first appeared as Todd Grimshaw on Coronation Street five years ago, has been at the heart of numerous gripping storylines.
Todd, son of long-standing character Eileen Grimshaw, has faced off with mobster Mick Chaney and navigated tense relations with George Shuttleworth, Eileen’s partner and his former colleague at Shuttleworth’s funeral parlour.
More recently Todd’s head has been turned by handsome new arrival Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) with the pair sharing a kiss during recent scenes of the ITV show.
Off-screen, Gareth’s life is considerably less tumultuous. He often posts photos of quality time spent with family, friends, and Corrie co-stars but what else do we know about this talented actor?
In addition to Corrie, Gareth has an impressive list of TV appearances under his belt. With roles in Mr Selfridge, Ordinary Lies, Hollyoaks, and Doctor Who: The Doctors Revisited (where he narrated all 11 episodes), Gareth’s resume is quite remarkable. Hailing from Wales, he also boasts credits in several Welsh series.
Gareth tied the knot with wife Amy Lee Pierce in 2014. and te couple, along with their daughter, have set up their cosy nest in Manchester.
Although Gareth is quite active on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his life, he chooses to keep his family’s privacy intact by not revealing their faces, particularly that of his young daughter.
Despite this privacy measure, it’s apparent from his posts that Gareth shares a wonderful connection with his family. During the summer holidays, he uploaded pictures from an adventurous day out at Go Ape with his daughter and more recently, documented their “10k family hike” in the scenic Welsh countryside.
When Gareth isn’t on set at Weatherfield, he enjoys spending quality time with his ‘Corrie’ colleagues.
