Amandaland star Peter Serafinowicz and his wife Sarah Alexander have reportedly split after 23 years together

BBC’s Amandaland star Peter Serafinowicz and his wife Sarah Alexander have reportedly split after 23 years together. Sources have claimed that 52 year old Peter and 54 year old actress Sarah – who starred in BBC sitcom Coupling – have quietly separated.

Peter, known for his role as Johannes Van der Velde in the popular BBC series Amandaland, and Sarah – who has featured in shows like Jonathan Creek and Green Wing – are reported to have recently split. The pair, who met in 2002 and have two children, Phoebe and Sam, worked together on several projects including the parody series Look Around You and O! News. They also teamed up for a stint on The Million Pound Drop in 2013, playing for charity.

However, it’s now been reported that the couple have parted ways as a source has claimed to the Daily Mail: “It’s very sad, but the split is recent”, reports the Mirror.

Before meeting Peter, Sarah had a year-long romance with actor Gerald Harper – who is four decades her senior.

In other news, in a recent interview with i Paper, Peter opened up about his own personal struggles, revealing that he was diagnosed with ADHD at 40. He shared: “I only found out 10 years ago, and really even more recently than that – like a year or two ago – realised just how severely it’s affected my life.”

Describing his experience with ADHD, Peter explained: “Having ADHD for me, it’s like being a genius, and also being a total idiot. Some things I can do really super well, and there are some very, very, very basic things that I find almost impossible. I think that’s true for a lot of people with ADHD.”

Peter now explores his ADHD journey on the podcast I’m ADHD, No You’re Not, alongside co-hosts Paul Whitehouse and Dr. Mine Conkbayir MBE. With humor and candid discussions, they delve into the realities of living with ADHD.

Recently, Peter has been making waves on BBC with his role as Johannes, Amanda’s South African property developer boyfriend, in the hit comedy Amandaland. Last month, it was announced that the Motherland spin-off will be back for a second series on BBC1, after becoming the second biggest comedy launch for the BBC in recent years – only behind Ludwig.

The series, which stars Lucy Punch as posh single mum Amanda, has attracted 6.4million viewers throughout its first run. Co-writer and creator Holly Walsh expressed: “We’ve been bowled over by the response to Amandaland and can’t wait to get co-labbing on the next series.”

The show has already been commissioned for a Christmas special, with an insider hinting it had already been filmed. “Amandaland is so funny, this could be the new jewel in the crown of the Christmas schedule,” they revealed. “Everyone is thrilled. But it’s top secret.”

Peter has also had significant roles in Shaun of the Dead, Doctor Who, and Rick and Morty. Meanwhile, Sarah has gained fame in the US by starring in the American series Teachers.
