Jedward

Jedward have let slip how much they were paid to appear in Celebrity Big Brother 14 years ago.

The former X Factor duo appeared in the eighth series of the reality show back in 2011 alongside the likes of Kerry Katona, Amy Childs and winner Paddy Doherty.

They entered the house during launch night and were treated as a single housemate for the duration of the series and the brothers ended up in third place.

Appearing on a recent episode of the Not My Bagg podcast, John and Edward Grimes made a bold claim to host Joe Baggs about their show fee.

The singers explained: “It’s mental to think we’re the the highest paid housemates ever in CBB history.

“They gave us a £1million to sit and just be jepic in 2011. That’s our highest pay cheque to date where we were like shocked.

“Obviously Louis [Walsh] got his percentage so that’s not good. I think I’m A Celeb was 400 or 300 and something which is mental like you can buy a house with that.”

Jedward’s X factor 2009 mentor Louis appeared in Celebrity Big Brother last year and reportedly earned close to £850,000.

During his stay in the most famous house in Britain, Louis called the twins “vile” during a chat with housemate Colson Smith.

The Coronation Street actor asked Louis what Jedward were like and the music mogul replied: “They were vile… I done five million quid with them.

“I swear on my mother’s life. They were vile, they were novelty, they were great for the show.”

Louis Walsh

Jedward later hit back at Louis’ claims in a string of social media posts calling him “cold hearted”.

They also filmed themselves in a hot tub with fellow CBB alumni Gemma Collins where she said: “Louis, don’t be slagging off my boys. They’re not vile or they wouldn’t be in my hot tub.”

Jedward returned to the CBB house in 2017 for Celebrity Big Brother: All-Stars vs New Stars where they finished runner up to Loose Women star Coleen Nolan.
