Princess Andre is ready to take the spotlight. As she prepares to turn 18 in June, the daughter of Katie Price and Peter Andre is said to be stepping into the world of reality TV with reports of an upcoming show featuring the Andre family in development. And according to PR expert Dermot McNamara, Princess’s transition to reality TV is a natural next step, given her famous parents. “Looking back, Katie Price was the original influencer. She was one of the first celebrities to get brand deals and create products. She was writing books, creating perfumes, and doing all those things that we see reality stars do now – many years ago,” Dermot explains.
“She and Peter Andre were some of the first celebrities on Twitter, and they were vlogging long before it became a thing. We’ve known them for decades and we’ve watched Princess grow up, so her own TV show would be a natural progression. There will be a huge core audience who followed her parents, and also a brand-new audience who are more interested in Princess herself.”
Princess already has an impressive 1.5 million followers on Instagram and TikTok, so, with a loyal fanbase already watching her every move, TV bosses will be eager to capitalise on her influence.
Industry expert Dermot explains: “I can see why TV bosses would be interested in that. They want younger people to be watching TV, and Princess has a huge draw. She’s probably had more exposure in her life than many A-list celebrities! We all know about Princess – we know her name, we know what she looks like, and we think we know what she’s all about. I suspect people will be very interested to see what she’s doing next.”
But the expert also says that reality TV has changed since Katie’s early days, with much more care taken over young stars entering the industry. “Things have changed since Katie’s time in terms of duty of care, especially with younger women. The awareness and sympathy just wasn’t there. Princess will no doubt have an excellent team and advisors around her. She’s familiar with the system and knows how the industry works,” he adds.
Dermot even sees Princess as part of a new generation of social media stars who have grown up in the spotlight and turned their family name into a career: “I see her almost like a Paris Hilton or Kylie Jenner type. They grew up in the industry in a famous family, and are very much into the beauty and fashion influencing arena, which is where Princess does so well.””
Princess has all the makings of being the next world-famous reality superstar. Born to two of the UK’s biggest reality TV and pop culture icons, a career in the spotlight was always on the cards. In fact, Princess has spent her entire life in the public eye.
