Gogglebox came under fire tonight as fans were disappointed after one TV show was unexpectedly missing from the episode. Our favourite armchair critics returned for tonight’s (Friday February 28) episode of the hit Channel 4 show.
Fan favourites including the Warners, the Sandifords and the Siddiquis appeared on our screens to offer their views on this week’s hit TV shows, including Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Britain’s Got Talent and Celebrity Hunted.
The families also reacted to a recent episode of one of the nation’s favourite soaps- Coronation Street. They saw Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) have a heart attack after a dramatic showdown with Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney).
Gogglebox viewers were thrilled to see Ken finally stand up for himself, as his carer Cassie had been poisoning his tea. Viewers following the show on X, formally known as Twitter, loved watching the reality stars comment on the tense scenes in Coronation Street.
One viewer said: “Their reaction to @clairesweeney poisoning Ken in #Corrie was brilliant.” Another added: “Loving the Goggleboxers cheering Ken.”
Despite enjoying the Coronation Street content, viewers criticised the absence of another soap which they thought deserved a spot on this weeks Gogglebox. One viewer said: “Weird that gogglebox haven’t shown EastEnders for it’s 40th anniversary.”
More fans agreed: “#gogglebox not reacting to any #Eastenders is so weird” and “I was expecting #gogglebox to feature #eastenders this week.”
Viewers expected Gogglebox to feature Corrie’s rival soap EastEnders, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last week. The soap first aired on BBC One in 1985 and still remains one of the most popular TV shows.
Despite the disappointment of missing EastEnders, the families enjoyed a dramatic act on Britain’s Got Talent which left them struggling to keep their eyes on the TV screen.
