Daniel Lustig has spoken out about his marriage and divorce from Stephen Webb. The former Gogglebox couple parted ways last year after six years of being together.
The two were renowned for their roles as armchair critics on the popular Channel 4 programme, the couple welcomed fans into their homes every Friday to provide hilarious observations about the week’s best TV before quitting the show in 2023.
Speaking on new podcast ‘Suddenly Single’ hosted by Best Magazine UK, Daniel revealed he’s back dating again after his ‘devastating’ split from Stephen. He said the breakup was a ‘slow process’ and for a while they were still sleeping in the same bed even after they had called time on the relationship.
Daniel highlighted a turning point being when Stephen took part in Celebs Go Dating last year, they decided to take separate bedrooms after this. Although, he admitted it was definitely process as they were entwined in everything they did and also had two dogs together.
Daniel and Stephen still have a lot of respect for each other despite Daniel admitting the split was ‘traumatic’ and he didn’t see it coming, although he knew things ‘weren’t great’. On the night the relationship ended they spent the evening reminiscing on memories of their time together over sweets and crisp.
In the months that followed the split, the pair have remained friends and are still living together in Brighton and remain business partners running a hair salon together. The 49-year-old has been open to other relationships since and says he was casually seeing a guy in London recently.
The former Gogglebox star added “as soon as you get off the train in London, attractive men everywhere.” He continued “you have to be on an app, to have connections, but some of them are negative because I’m on apps and I’m like no, no.”
