“ITV Coronation Street Star Shares Relationship Update with Former Soap Colleague”

Jack Shepherd has been involved in some of Coronation Street’s biggest storylines over the last couple of weeks. The actor has played the role of David Platt since 2000.

Off-screen Jack enjoys time with his fiancée, Hanni Treweek. The two regularly share updates from their happy life on Instagram Back in June the actor asked his long-term girlfriend to marry him while on a safari holiday in Tanzania.

Hanni took to social media to announce Jack had popped the question, she said: ” I said YES to forever!!!” alongside a picture of the two and a glimpse of her new ring. In October Jack and Hanni revealed that they’d set a date for their special day and shared a look at their ‘save the dates’ that will be sent out to their nearest and dearest. Written on them was “26th July 2025 we become Mr & Mrs Shepherd!!”

‌The couple have been in a relationship since 2017, they originally met on the set of the long-running soap when Hanni was working as a scriptwriter. He told OK!: “We met at Corrie but we only really knew each other to say hello to at work.

“Then our mutual friends got married and we were both guests at the wedding. We got chatting. I made Hanni laugh. We had a couple of drinks and we flirted. That was it.”

In a new post uploaded to Hanni’s Instagram story, she shared a photo of the two looking at each other lovingly and enjoying red wine. The former Coronation Street storyline writer captioned the image “I love wedding planning with you”, Jack reposted the snap to his own account.

The post comes as viewers watched a dramatic episode on the Cobbles last night, March 5. David Platt plotted his own death in a hit and run car incident, however his plan took a sinister twist when the car also hit Daisy, played by Charlotte Jordan.

The episode followed David’s monologue as he narrated the scenes leading up to the point where he was supposed to be killed. In emotional scenes, he said a subtle goodbye to his family members who had no idea about his harrowing intentions.

Viewers admitted the episode was a hard watch, following several distressing scenes in recent weeks. The Platts have been in danger after finding themselves in debt to gangster Harvey Gaskell. In a final bid to solve his worries, David thought him getting killed was the only way out.
