“Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Sends Him Emotional Message in TV Interview”

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy appeared on Lorraine today for an emotional interview, following the tragic death of the One Direction singer last October

In her first television interview since his tragic death, Kate Cassidy conveyed a heartfelt message to her late boyfriend Liam Payne. The One Direction singer fell to his death from a balcony in October 2024.

In an emotional interview with Lorraine Kelly today, Kate explained that she was wearing a necklace, made of angel wings in order to be closer to Liam. Explaining the significance of the pendant to Lorraine, she shared: “It actually is angel wings, I saw it in a little gift shop a couple of weeks ago and I feel like it spoke to me and matches my angel wing tattoos. I wear it quite often and it once again makes me feel closer to Liam.”

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy joined Lorraine Kelly for her first ever TV interview since his passing

During the poignant conversation, Kate said that Liam’s passing was her first experience of losing someone near and dear to her. “I’ve never lost anybody close to me before, so this is my first time dealing with anything like this and going through this grief and healing journey,” she said.

Kate spoke to Lorraine as part of her March4March campaign, designed to motivate people to take a stroll and boost their mental health. Kate spoke about why she wanted to be involved in it, saying: “This campaign speaks volumes to me. Anything I can do in the mental health department to help anybody, I feel like I now want to be able to help people feel less alone and get through grief and healing so anything I can really do to provide that”, reports the Mirror.

Yet, it’s more than just a campaign for Kate – it’s personal, particularly with the inclusion of the number four. Sharing her connection, she revealed: “That’s actually the first thing that I noticed when I first read into the campaign. It’s called March4March, and the first thing that I was obviously drawn to was the number four. For people that aren’t familiar with the number four, it’s mine and Liam’s angel number which symbolises support and guidance from your angels, and I genuinely believe that Liam guided me to this campaign and wanted me to be involved in this to help other people. It’s something that he wanted me to do.”

She added poignantly: “It’s still so special, I see it so often and it’s going to be something that’s going to be involved in my life forever. Every time I see the number four, I know he’s there with me.”

Kate pointed out that Liam, who was always candid about his mental health battles, would have urged her to back the cause, as “he can no longer help people.”

Since Liam’s tragic passing, Kate has opened up about her own struggles with mental health, sometimes finding it tough to leave her bed. Despite these struggles, she recognises the importance of getting out for fresh air to help clear her mind and says walking her dog is a “responsibility” that has helped her on those harder days.

Kate said: “It really can make such a difference, and for me, I’ve always enjoyed walking. I would consider myself an active person but obviously now that I’m going through this healing journey, sometimes it’s hard for me to get out of bed in the morning and it’s something that I don’t want to do.”

“I have this responsibility and this obligation that I have no choice. I have to get out of bed and whether it’s a five minute walk or a twenty minute walk first thing in the morning, either way, it refreshes my mind instead of laying in bed all day and scrolling through social media or old photos. It gets me out of bed and really helps my mindset and my mental health.”

She also said of her grief: “I am trying to do my best, I have my better days, I have my harder days but I’m surrounded by such a great support system that I cannot thank enough. Having Nala [Kate and Liam’s dog] around has helped me so much with my healing journey.”
