Rod Stewart’s family has expanded once again as he revels in the joy of becoming a grandad for the fourth time. The legendary Scottish singer, 79, who is wed to Penny Lancaster, is dad to eight children.
This includes his son Liam, whose family just grew by one more with the arrival of his second child alongside his spouse, Nicole. On Instagram, the couple were thrilled to share an adorable snapshot of their newest edition, snuggled next to their 21-month-old son Louie. Using the social platform, they announced: “Elsie Skylar Stewart. Our sweet little pea born 03/02/25.” Given Rod’s mother, who sadly passed in 1996 at the age of 91, shared the same name Elsie, it’s a touching tribute within the Stewart lineage.
As the heartwarming photo made its rounds, featuring little Louie cosying up to his baby sister in the hospital, Rod’s renowned relatives chimed in with heartfelt congratulations. His former spouse and Liam’s mum, Rachel Hunter, commented eagerly: “I can’t wait to meet you. Bursting with love.”
While Penny, Rod’s wife, gushed: “So adorable, can’t wait to meet Louie’s little sister Elsie.” Echoes of joy came from Alana Hamilton Stewart too—Rod’s first wife and mum to Kimberly, Ashley, and Sean—who praised: “Congratulations! ! She’s beautiful!”
Rod’s daughter Ruby, whose mum is Kelly Emberg, also joined the chorus of warm welcomes stating: “Welcome to the Stewart family Little Elsie!” The couple first embraced parenthood with their son Louie back in May 2023, taking to Instagram to spread the happy news then.

Besides the delight of younger kids, Alastair and Aidan whom he shares with Penny, his third wife, he also is dad to 28 year old Liam and 30 year old Renee. Both of these children are from his second marriage to model Rachel Hunter, now 53.
Kimberly, 43, and Sean, 42, are Rod’s kids from his first marriage to actress Alana Stewart, 77. His daughter Ruby, 35, is the result of his past relationship with model Kelly Emberg, 63. The singer’s eldest child, Sarah Streeter, 59, was adopted and brought up by Gerald and Evelyn Thubron.
While we’re used to seeing Rod’s family in the limelight for more glitzy reasons, it was a different story for his third child Sean, who checked himself into Cliffside Malibu rehab just last week.The 44 year old opened up about his true reasons for the stay, putting rumours of an addiction relapse to rest while looking to uplift others facing his struggles.
Despite speculation, Sean stressed that his decision to enter rehab wasn’t due to a lapse but rather stems from deep-rooted childhood issues and a neurodiverse condition. Sharing his pain candidly with MailOnline, he divulged his long-standing battle with ADHD and dyslexia, experiences that even led to cruel taunts, dubbing him “Stupid Stewart.”
He disclosed the agony of dealing with these problems through the “decades.”
