Luke Littler has baffled fans after his latest encounter with a fellow celebrity. Luke, who hails from Warrington, made history as the youngest ever player to win the PDC World Darts Championship when he defeated Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace last month at just 17 years old.
Luke is currently in Dublin ahead of his appearance in Premier League darts at the 3Arena in the Irish capital. He has been catapulted to fame from being an unknown darts player to a household name in the last two years after reaching the World Darts Championship in 2024.
Because of this, he’s become no stranger to meeting all sorts of famous names, including Manchester United footballers and boxing promoter Eddie Hearn. However, fans were surprised to see him meeting celebrated American rapper and singer Pitbull last night.
Pitbull was delighted to speak to the darts sensation. He posted a picture of himself smiling with Luke on his social media pages and said: “Luke, it was an honour, wishing you the best of luck.
“You have the Green Light, Dale!” Green light is a reference to Pitbull’s song of the same name, which Luke has chosen as his walk-on theme before matches.
Meanwhile ‘Dale’ is a Spanish word that Cuban-American rapper Pitbull uses in his music and as a signature catchphrase. It can be translated as “give it” or “go ahead” in English.
Luke shared the picture on his accounts too. However many fans on X/Twitter were seemingly unaware of Luke’s affinity for Pitbull’s music. They were also surprised to see two people from very different worlds meeting.
One said: “The collaboration I never saw coming.” Another person said: “Crazy crossover.” A third said: “Pitbull and Luke Littler together in Dublin. What a world we live in: “A fourth added: “This is literally one of the maddest pictures I’ve ever seen.”
