Speaking to Sky Sports at the start of the season, Slot explained a decision on whether his family joins him next season will be made closer to the end of the 2024/25 season. He said: “Both of them are doing their exams. So, it was impossible for them to come.

“I wouldn’t say impossible, but that wouldn’t be the right choice to bring them over. And let’s see how it works out this year for them, for me, and see how we will do things next year. But first of all, we have to keep on winning for me to keep this job!””

Slot couldn’t have wished for a better start to his Liverpool tenure as he hopes his team will continue their winning form when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park tonight.
