Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford is a fan favourite on the Channel 4 show, but away from the TV she has a very different life with her boyfriend and famous family
Gogglebox is making a comeback on Channel 4 with a fresh series, and some beloved stars are set to return to give their take on the latest TV offerings. Blackpool’s own Sophie Sandiford might be seen with her brother Pete, but she also has two more siblings: another brother named Harry, and a sister, Lucy.
While Sophie’s parents, Julie and Paul, don’t usually get airtime on the show, Sophie hasn’t shied away from sharing snaps with her mum on social media. She and Pete have an interesting family connection too – they’re related to the Chuckle Brothers, Barry and Paul Elliott.
In 2019, Paul Elliott took to social media to post a selfie with Pete, Sophie, and their sister Lucy, captioning it with a heartwarming “Look who we had a very nice lunch with @pinklarkholme #ProudUncle.”
As for her personal digs, Sophie spilled the beans about her living situation, revealing that the house was originally Pete’s before she cheekily made it her own. Chatting with The Metro in 2020, she confessed: “We live in the same house. Pete bought the house and did it up. I sneakily just pitched up with my stuff one day and said, ‘I’m not going home’. That’s how I moved in.”
She then added a twist to the tale: “Then I bought the house off Pete. So now we still live together but instead of me living with Pete, Pete lives with me.”
On the romance front, 28 year old Sophie is happily coupled up with her beau Ben McKeown. The pair ended 2024 on a high note with an epic trip to Vegas, where they snapped photos by the iconic Las Vegas sign and took in the sights of the Grand Canyon.
Sophie and Ben first let the world in on their love story in April 2022.
Sophie faced a career setback when Debenhams closed its doors in December 2020, leaving many including herself without a job. Not one to be deterred, she shifted gears and pursued her passion for floristry; after passing her exams, Sophie launched her own business, Petali Floristry, in Blackpool.
Her venture, however, didn’t have the smoothest of beginnings – as evidenced by a rather humorous revelation on their Instagram story: “Great start… just nearly binned the keys to the workshop.”
On a more personal note, Sophie’s recent Instagram tribute celebrated her brother Pete’s birthday in November 2024, showing off her softer side amidst the entrepreneurial hustle.
