Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley has teased dramatic scenes are on the horizon in the fictional Yorkshire village. The soap star is renowned for her role as Mandy Dingle in the hit ITV show.
The 48-year-old first joined the cast of Emmerdale in 1995 and continues to be one of the show’s most important characters. She is set to be at the centre of a dramatic Valentine’s Day story in the show.
The soap is set to explore a heart-stopping storyline centred on a fateful night that brings two limousines into danger. Mandy is one of the characters in a limo and she has issued an update on her social media channels ahead of the episodes.
She said: “The drama in @emmerdale is all about to kick off…..the romance of Valentines night won’t be warm and cozy, it’s cold and chilling. you don’t want to miss what’s about to unfold-it’s one we are extremely proud of.”
Spoilers have revealed one vehicle ends up on a frozen lake and a flash forward scene earlier this year showed a hand breaking through the lake’s icy surface. Emmerdale released a trailer ahead of the dramatic episodes and fans are excited to see how it pans out and who the character submerged underwater is.

It’s been a busy week away from the screen for Lisa as she became embroiled in a huge talking point after hecklers were escorted out of a Peter Kay gig at the AO Arena. The incident took place at the Bolton comic’s show on February 8 and began with a heckler shouting ‘garlic bread’ during the gig, which saw him removed from the venue. Shortly after, another outburst emerged when a woman was compared to Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley and, following a show of hands from fellow spectators who found her ‘f****** annoying’, security was prompted by the 51-year-old comedian to remove her too.
The Phoenix Nights star set the record straight on the incident in a statement shared with Good Morning Britain. He said: “I didn’t realise it was an insult. She did look remarkably like Lisa Riley, I didn’t realise that was an insult. There comes a point when dealing with repeated hecklers simply isn’t enough.
“It’s not something you ever want to do but it becomes a point when it’s no longer fair to everyone around.” In response, Lisa took to Instagram to show her support for the comic.
On her Instagram Story, she posted: “Please draw a line under this now, I am not offended, never was offended. I love Peter Kay to pieces. Laughter is my favourite medicine.”
